Whew busy with my NYFW vlogs but now I am finally able to share with you my first look for NYFW. This fashion week I only wore one brand new item: a hat I bought on sale at Zara. Everything else this season I either thrifted or shopped my closet. For this look I wore sunnies from Bottega Veneta which I picked up at sample sale at a former job. The scarf I bought so long ago I can not recall where I got it, and the sixties style patent bomber I got at Zara about four years ago; I wore it on my very first trip to Paris, so needles to say it holds fond memories for me. The skirt was thrifted at Beacon’s Closet in Brooklyn and the boots I bought about six years ago are from Cole Haan and I got them second hand at Cross Roads in New York City. The bag is about two years old and is from a French company called Max & Enjoy.
This look was shot outside Pier 59 Studios after the Fix & Fax show and was taken by the very talented photographer Aqeel Toberia, who also shoots weddings. Luckily for us our fellow photog Martin had his light saber on hand. Got to love how the reflective surfaces of this super fun bomber, metallic scarf and sparkly skirt picked up the light. I was happy with this look and that I was able to pull it all together with pieces I already had in my closet. A win win if you ask me.

I’m loving this! You look like you just walked off the runway. That skirt is just fabulous and I love that bomber! I need to be better about shopping my closet and I try to do my posts based on doing that, but there’s always something missing I just have to have and I end up going to a store to pick it up new. There was just a story on the news about textile waste (the comparison was done in NYC but I’m sure it’s the same story everywhere) and it is estimated that the textile waste there is equal to nine of the Statue of Liberty (I guess volume calculations were done). Wow. OK. Time to stop buying so much and thrift more :/
