Marc Jacobs Resort 2018 for lookbook friday

Fashion - [email protected] - January 19, 2018

This has been a challenging winter for sure. And I for one am more then ready for some R and R in a warm resort destination. Well I may not be jet setting off to a tropical climate in the near future I can bring to you my dear readers Marc Jacob’s Resort Collection for 2018.

With it’s can’t be missed sixties references and it’s liberal use of satin, this lineup takes a stance. There is no in between, you are either on board or your not. I for one love it, to me nothing is more sexy and comfortable then a shift dress. I love the freedom it invokes.

A blast from the not so distant past and nod toward a brighter less sever future

Yes they may not be for everyone but there is a certain sense of liberty in these defiant frocks. Much of which is expressed in this lookbook with the striking poses of the models. Add embellished pencil skirts, pretty detailed tunic tops, a plethora of kitten heels, this lineup is as much fun as it is compelling. A blast from the not so distant past and nod toward a brighter less sever future.

In todays Lookbook Friday we are looking at the Parisian brand Delphine Delafon. The brand was founded in 2011 as a handbag company. Originally know for her specialized bucket bag featuring engraved and numbered eyelets the company has expanded to include customized bags and Ready-to-Wear.

this line up embraces the romantic ethos of a free-spirited it girl

We are looking at the company’s first attempt at Ready-to-Wear with the pre-fall 2017. The brand’s only garment collection to date has a distinct seventies flair and a decidedly French feel. With it’s high-waisted wide legged trousers, electric pops of color and liberal use of crushed velvet it is safe to say this line up embraces the romantic ethos of a free-spirited it girl

I hope to visit the studio in Paris one day to create a bag of my own. If you want to learn more about Delphine Delafon head to website at Delphinedelafon.com

The Gold Medallion Necklace Trend

Fashion - [email protected] - January 9, 2018

Over-sized statement necklaces were a huge trend a number of seasons ago. And although we still see the bold-can’t-be-missed necklaces about, the trend now seems to be swinging in the opposite direction with a more toned down approach. Though no less eye catching this sought after look features layers of necklaces mainly pendents, medallions and charms—preferably in gold. And in particular the medallion is really having moment. From A Listers like Kim Kardashian to YouTube stars to the biggest bloggers and influencers this is a super hot item on every fashionista’s must-have list.

Have you jumped this trend? If so, what influenced your purchase

I just ordered my first one from Nordstrom from the brand LuluDK. It was on sale from $68.00 down to $30.00! I am so excited to get it and I can not wait to share it with you my dear readers. Have you jumped this trend? If so, what influenced your purchase? If not, what is your go to jewelry trend of the moment.

Happy 2018 everyone. Here is hoping that 2018 will be a better year then the one we left behind. It is the time of the year when we look inward and then outward. And for me this means a more dedicated vision of bringing to you my devoted readers the best in new and emerging designers. I want to focus less on the well known designers, not that you will not see coverage of the heavy hitters but you will certainly see more of a focus on break out talents and the smaller houses.

And in today’s Lookbook Friday I am going to introduce you Collectionsy-Milano. A brand based out of Italy and founded by Shang Yang who studied at the Domas Academy in Milan. Shang Yang rose quickly working with well know brands in Italy while still in school and having his 2016 graduate collection featured in Vogue Italia.

His strength lies in his deceivingly simple lines and playful aesthetic

The collection for 2018 embraces a youthful and more body conscious silhouette then we have seen the last few seasons. Fluctuating between streamlined pieces of expert tailoring and more embellished garments the lineup offers a kinetic duality of adorned minimalism. His strength lies in his deceivingly simple lines and playful aesthetic. With the elongated body dresses and two tiered skirt and ruffled jackets stealing the show. It is Christmas weekend and New Years Eve is right around the corner. Time to look forward and celebrate the coming of a new year. And of course this often ushered in with a night of drinking, merriment and a fabulously fashionable reason to get dressed up. And Georgine offers up a plethora of cocktail party inspired garments.

Last winter I had the please of attending Gerorgine’s Fall 2017 runway show during NYFW and it was quite the show, you read more that here. Known for creating youthful and bold clothes with a rock-n-roll flare, the line up for spring 2018 is an elegant take on this from the street up aesthetic.

with it’s electric hued pops of color, less then demure finishes and animal print accents, this collection is not for the  more timid clothes horse

With fitted long hemmed pencil dresses featuring ruffle detailing to wide legged pants suits and trench coat frocks we are seeing a bit of a more grown up tone. Though rest assured with it’s electric hued pops of color, less then demure finishes and animal print accents, this collection is not for the timid clothes horse.

Nothing is lovelier then spending a crisp fall day strolling in Brooklyn. The brownstones and tree lined streets with their changing colors and dappled sunlight so puts one in the mood to shop for Christmas. I did a bit of this and picked up few things for myself as well. I will be vlogging about this in the not too distant future.

Today I am sharing with you what I wore for this excursion. You have seen this top before in my NYFW vlog. When I wore it to NYFW I paired it with a pleated metallic skirt and suede mules for a very dressed up look. Here, I am dressing it down with distressed jeans and low heeled ankle boots. The necklaces which I layered together are from J Crew and COS. Both the top and the jeans are from H&M and the boots which you may have seen on my What I wore to Paris Fashion Week post are from Guess.

Don’t you love when clothes can do double duty? From chic fashion week events to running errands you can’t go wrong with a ruffle top.
