Celine’s latest collection for Spring 2016 is an unapologetic celebration of the avant-garde
Hands up, who is shopping for spring clothes? With spring no longer on the horizon and actually in full bloom I am more then ready to embrace the season and step out in the latest must have items of the moment. Though I do worry from time to time about looking like everyone else. Though rest assured if you are wearing Celine you won’t blend in with the crowd. From sear sucker inspired stripes to relax fit trenches, geometric cut tunics and boxy dropped waist trousers, Celine’s latest collection for Spring 2016 is an unapologetic celebration of the avant-garde. Destructed pieces are layered over one another in a frenzy of erratic angles, trouser waists are either dropped or fall right below the rib cage, sleeves are taken apart and sewn on to shoulders and the pencil skirt is reimagined in an asymmetrical deconstructed homage to being just a little bit left of center. Ruffled high-low dresses, hourglass blazers with over hanging lapels, cut out tops with elastic necklines and ankle grazing car coats round out or should I say stand out in this remarkable collection. Perhaps all of these pieces together may be a bit too avant-garde for some. But every girl should own at least one Celine garment. I have my eye on the zebra print turtle neck. And what do you have your eye on?

May 6, 2016This seems to be a bit if a departure from Celine’s usual classic and minimal aesthetic. I’m not sure I’m loving it but the architectural silhouettes are definitely eye catching.

May 8, 2016Well said. Truly avant-garde and architectural. I appreciate these pieces but most would be hard for me to wear. The sleek coats are gorgeous though, and for someone long and lean, many of these dramatic pieces would be brilliant!
