What I Wore to NYFW—Neiman Marcus, Welden Bags and Stepping Out in Style

the bag reminded me why I love fashion so much—that inexplicable nuisance of expressing individual style through the lens of current fashion trends. And the art of creating clothing and accessories—a functional beauty that does not hang on a wall, but rather, lives and breaths on streets for all the world to see.

Yes, another Fashion Week has come and gone and this was one for me was busier then ever. With a full-time job in publishing, maintaing a blog on a daily basis, and attending a whirl wind of events during NYFW I was, needless to say feeling a bit frazzled. But, I had a brief respite from the harried frenziness otherwise known as my life, when I headed to the Caravan Stylist Studios at the Gregory Hotel to get my hair and makeup done. And after the lovely team had their way with me, and made me look my stellar best, I had my picture taken by the talented Brandi of BrandiNicolePhoto.com. Be sure to have a look at her site, some stunning photography to be sure. And no, Joan Rivers may no longer be around to ask me what I am wearing, but I am more then happy to share with you my dear readers what I wore to New York Fashion Week.

I was lucky enough to attend the Pop Sugar Shop Style Social House event and I was even luckier to have the opportunity to pull clothes for the week. And in this look I chose to wear a suede wrap dress from Neiman Marcus. This dress is meant to be worn as is, but given that the polar vortex was gripping New York in it’s frigid embrace I wore this lovely frock over a long-sleeved fitted pull-over. I mean I love fashion just as much as the next girl, but bare arms in zero degree weather, um, no that was not happening. I paired it with these knee-high studded boots from Cole Haan, and finally I added this dusty pink satchel from Welden Bags.

Welden Bags are hand-woven and made with impeccable attention to detail and highest quality leather. This bag was also on loan from Shop Style and I must say, it pained my to have to return it. I just may have to break out the plastic for this one, spring is right around the corner and this bag is the perfect way to usher in this much anticipated season. It was a joy to use, and looked killer on my arm. And the compliments I received on both the dress and the bag reminded me why I love fashion so much—that inexplicable nuisance of expressing individual style through the lens of current fashion trends. And the art of creating clothing and accessories—a functional beauty that does not hang on a wall, but rather, lives and breaths on streets for all the world to see. So until next Fashion Week stay fashionable and live every day with beauty and intention.
