After seasons of minimalism and non body con looks Balmain’s pre-fall collection’s sophisticated take on the bombshell aesthetic is a sizzling sensation of modern day sex appeal
I think Balmain may just have brought sexy back. After seasons of minimalism and non body con looks Balmain’s pre-fall collection’s sophisticated take on the bombshell aesthetic is a sizzling sensation of modern day sex appeal. A cool toned ruby red dominates the palette in a luxurious sultry vibe which is accented with a shimmering jewel toned green, a rich mustard, and lots of black and white. Florals play nicely with solid tones of color, and texture can be found in a variety of mediums from embroidered edges, to full fringe garments, to ruffles, fur and pleats. Jumpsuits, ultra-wide leg trousers, bell sleeved mini dresses and fitted leotard cut shirts stay in line with the seventies trend, while the wide over-sized belts, a “checkered” blue and gold weave top, and stripes are a bit of a nod to the hyper fashion of the eighties. While generous wrap coats lend some softness to the more sleek edgy pieces and the Halston era, pointed, sky-scrapper two-toned metallic and black stilettos polish off every look in an unforgettable seductive flirty celebration. So are you ready to bring sexy back? Which of these pieces inspires you to channel your inner bombshell?

Loving those silver metallic dresses! Agree with you on the Halson comparison, Allie. Each and every piece is so Balmain and pure glam of the gorgeous 70s. Happy Friday!

Wow, what flashy yet beautiful designs. By coincidence, I just read a New Yorker piece on Balmain’s young creative designer, Olivier Rousteing. Interesting article. http://www.newyorker.com/magazine/2015/10/12/trending

I don’t know what it is but something about this collection has such an 80’s vibe to me. The jumpsuits are all amazing!
I have loved Balmain’s style for a while now and seeing this collection made me smile with envy. I can’t wait to see what he does with H&M, but in all honesty, I wish I could have some of these pieces in my closet. Oh how I wish I had a lot of money lol.

Oh wow, this is one of the most sophisticated collection that I’ve seen featured here. I may not be a fashion person but these are stunners! I adore the picture of the girl with fur coat (faux fur?), now that is a diva-ish, bombshell look!

They over did it on the “sexy” part but I like how they used the fringe and those coats are awesome!
These are all so perfect, one of my favourites. I think the first picture is my favourite and I adore those red & nude shoes.
I’m in love with the silver fringe 🙂
So sexy!! Great collection, I love the colors specially the green looks.
Have wonderful weekend.

Balmain always keeping it edgy with hints of sexiness. So in love with this campaign, not feeling the tassel silver dress. Only because I recently tried one on and it is SO INCREDIBLY, ANNOYINGLY high maintenance. I would’t dare trust my self in something like that.

It’s hard to choose a favorite. As I scrolled through these looks, I just thought #girlboss. I have a feeling this year will be a good one for Balmain (including their new collection with H&M). These looks are also perfect for a touch of glamour this holiday season. – culturedmisprint.com/blog
