Who doesn’t love a gorgeous clutch. I had the honor of sporting Milly’s star encrusted Single/Taken clutch at NYFW this season and I couldn’t believe what a conversation starter it was; from fellow attendees, to people on the street everyone had their eyes on my Milly clutch. Known for making beautiful and impeccably tailored clothes that mesh an American sportswear aesthetic with traditional Parisian atelier techniques Milly’s clothes are both exquisitely made and edgy and fun to wear.

Her Pre-Fall 2016 collection is a bit out of the box, and a step away from her usual flirty designs. With a noticeable androgynous angle to the lineup, the pieces have more relaxed fit, more minimalist, with much of the detailing happening in the draping. Yet one can also see a nod to the nineties: with lots of slip dresses, layered ensembles, and slouchy over-sized coats and tops.
However, you will also find more contemporary trends such as billowy off the shoulder blouses, elongated man tailored vests and asymmetrical skirts. Silhouettes are long, flowing and unfussy, with the occasion body con frock making an appearance. With a base palette of black that is off set with corals, jades, dusty pink, and marine blue the collation is at once soothing and sophisticated. But too sophisticated, at it’s heart this lineup is a gorgeous youth quake, a sumptuous romp of cheeky perfection.
