QUAY Australia, Affordable Luxury Sunglasses But so Much More

Yes I finally took the plunge and spent more then $24.00 on sun glasses. My regular readers will know that I have never spent a lot of money on sunglasses because I either lose them or break them. It is unusual for me to have the same pair at the end of the summer that I started out with at the beginning of the summer. And true to form I almost lost these glasses an hour after I purchased them. I was meeting fellow blogger Andrea of Pretty Proper Quaint in Soho for a day of shooting. On the way to meet Andrea I realized I had forgotten to bring a pair of sunglasses with me, luckily I had arrived early so I had some time to shop for a new pair. After some brief browsing about I popped in to Olive Bettes a fun Pepto Bismol pink colored boutique on Spring Street.

I always think of this place as a good luck charm as I had stopped in here before job interview a number of years ago, the young woman working here at the time told me I was sure to get the job, I however wasn’t so sure…but she was right I did get the job. And although I have since moved on to a new job I always remember that day with fond memories when I pass by this shop. I spied these shades in the window and I just knew I just had to try them on. And wow what a difference from the usual $10.00 pairs I am use to sporting. These retail for $50.00 and for those of you that are use to plunking down a couple hounded dollars for a pair of sunnies this may not sound like a lot, but for me this was a plunge. But I was in good mood, and these glasses made me feel so luxurious I decided to go for it.

in fact she loved mine so much she decided to buy a pair of her own

Shortly after this I met up with Andrea and one of the first things she did was to inquire on my sunglasses, in fact she loved mine so much she decided to buy a pair of her own. So we headed back to Olive and Bette’s were Andrea purchased her own pair in all black. They looked great on her and off we went in our matching QUAY’s to get some coffee. After stepping out of the coffee shop I suddenly realized my QUAY’s were not on my head—and they were not in my bag. Yes that’s right girls (and boy’s) I had already lost them. Poor Andrea had to deal with my mini melt down. But I took a deep breath, cleared my head and thought back to when I last recalled having them…when I was at the J Crew counter. So we headed back to J Crew and there they were behind the counter. Whew. With that catastrophe behind us were off to shoot..

And if you want to take a look at the pair Andrea purchased and at my first ever live person photo shoot—yes that’s right we are talking photos that moi took of a fellow blogger be sure to head on over to PrettyProperQuaint.com. And stay tuned for a post later in the week to see me in my QUAY Australia sunnies and to see Andrea’s wonderful photography skills. And if you are like me and and uneasy about spending more then $100 on sunglass but are ready to move up from the $10.00 specials then QUAY Australia could just fit the bill with their affordable luxury shades.

  1. I quite like Quay sunglasses. The quality is very impressive for the price. I’m someone who splurges on sunglasses and doesn’t too. Lately I’ve been collecting them like postage stamps. I’ve added Tom Ford and Fendi to my collection. Also added three other high street styles too. One of those is by Quay, the rose gold aviators that are a Youtube vlogger collab. It took me ages to find a pair, I ended up having to go on a waitlist for them! But I am glad I finally got them because I am loving them to death!

  6. SO glad you found your sunnies. Losing them is never fun. I always wish I could just buy any sunglasses but I can’t. My sunnies are prescription and I would be so upset if I lost them. Plus, I wouldn’t be able to see, which would be even worse. haha My sunnies are from Warby Parker and I would never go anywhere else for sunnies. I love their product, hey have great service, and great prices.

  7. Those are really chic sunglasses and very affordable at $50. I really like their logo as well. I think I also would’ve had a mini meltdown if I had lost my sunglasses especially so soon after acquiring them. Glad to hear that you were abel to retrace your steps and recover them Great job on the pics of Andrea btw!
