Boys like fashion too, or at least French boys do. When my nephew was visiting from Paris on his list of things to do was to visit the Off White gallery pop up. As I had already planned on taking him to Soho this was a definite. Off White is really having a moment, and I think much of their success comes from balancing traditional fashion with street style and art creating a sense of individuality and exclusivity while also being wholly inclusive and a bit cheeky.
the collection is happily off kilter in the most artful way
The demand for Off White garments is evident by it’s far reaching appeal from teens in Paris to celebrities and the fashion elite. The line up for Fall 2018 is at once elegant and rebellious which speaks true to the heart of the brand. From a beautiful and classic hounds tooth suite to less conventional striped coveralls and a logo emblazoned wool cape with matching skirt the collection is happily off kilter in the most artful way. Add to the mix an asymmetrical high-low skirt set, a patch work man tailored pencil dress, stiletto boots stamped with an obvious slogan—a form of trademark the brand is known for and you have an intentionally eclectic collection of statement making pieces.
Andy Warhol once said everyone would be famous for fifteen minutes and made fun of art comparing it to commerce, well it seems Off White got the memo and has their finger on the digital pulse of our oh so connected world.
