Happy early spring everyone. Today I am sharing a few things I picked up. One item was a gift from Sephora for my Birthday, one was a much needed moisturizer, and the other was my first purchase on Tik Tok. I hope you enjoy.
And on another note, have any of you noticed any changes on any of the main social media platforms? I have to say I can see why so many people have stepped away from YouTube. It is the platform that requires the most amount of work and in which you get the least amount of ROI. As I spoke about in my last post I feel like the platform is leaning more and more towards sensationalist videos and the like.
I am not sure what happened this past summer but they did something to algorithm and now it is absolutely awful. If the views on my videos get any lower I might as well stop posting on this platform all together. I have put more work into the videos themselves, the thumbnails, and the key words. And not only are things not improving, they are getting worse, much worse.
I was use to this on IG: the ever changing algorithm but I am getting fed up with it on ALL social platforms. Also, I have sneaking suspicion that Meta bought Tik Tok…

From some of my ancient recollections, shopping at Sephora can be a treat.
Yes, some of the multiple changes to Google’s and YouTube’s algorithms are HORRIBLE.
Now, after watching any of my own videos using Safari’s private browsing feature, the recommendations for my next watch are often for right-wing tabloid “news” propaganda clips. Yuck.

Thank you so much. Yes it is treat but can also being overwhelming LOL. Wow that is crazy really?? The categories suck. For example the category I often put my videos are style and how to which is a ridiculous category. Style should be a category on its own. “How to” is a HUGE category the only category that would be bigger would be “life”. There is a how to video for everything from unclogging a drain, how to do your taxes, how to take better photos, how to write a good cover letter, how to do corn rows. NONE of which has to do with style. I mention that last one b/c when I looked up a video I did on thrift shopping this one of the videos my video was suggested on. Umm OK. That makes sense…why would some one who searched on how to do corn rows want to see a video about thrift shopping?
The Too Faced set is great, and the price is very good too.
The Laneige moisturizer sounds very interesting.

I always enjoy an unboxing! But holy cow, I used some Philosophy face and neck cream on my neck two nights ago and I broke out in hives from it. Thank god I only put it on my neck! Over the last 10 years, I’ve been having more and more allergic skin reactions to cosmetics, so I have to be careful. It makes me fearful to try new products.
I haven’t really noticed anything on YouTube but I don’t use it that much. As for Instagram, I rarely get any “likes” anymore. I use to get so many “likes” and new followers. Now nothing. Enjoy your new products!

Maybe it’s also because I don’t waste any time thinking about whether algorithms are changing, whether views are increasing or decreasing, or anything like that. I simply do what I love and post about it because I love it too. If at some point no one is interested in it anymore, or if I no longer enjoy it, I’ll stop posting about it. But more importantly, I live my life.

Just when you think you know a social media platform, they change something and it all goes to heck. Sigh.
Wow! The shadows in that palette are beautiful! The lipstick is a very pretty shade. I liked the presentation with its eyeliner. I don’t know about the purchase of Meta from TikTok, I haven’t heard anything yet, but on YouTube I’ve noticed that since I started uploading Shorts, the views of my horizontal videos have decreased. The algorithm changes very often. I’ve also noticed that many creators have stopped posting often. I hope the reach improves; it’s a shame because you put in the effort to create content. Kisses.
I do watch more YouTube now but you have interesting insight about it.

You picked up some lovely items. This Too faced palette seems nice. I like that it’s not too big, it seems easily portable.
I don’t really use other social networks apart from my blog, so I haven’t noticed much changes. But it’s entirely possible that the Youtube algorithm is changing, these things change all the time. I think every social network tries to keep its users in some way, but often these changes put off some people. I hope YouTube doesn’t go the clickbait route, it used to have some educating channels. For example, I watched a lot of classical /academic painting videos on YouTube and they were very helpful to me.
