A few weeks ago in this post I wrote about the 70’s inspired trend and in particular flare cut jeans and trousers. I looked at wide cut trousers and how to style them. This trend is still fairly new, though it has been tried before in recent fashion history but did not catch on. In fact, I remember about eight years ago when I was still living in Seattle, seeing flare jeans in the stores, and I even bought a pair at a store called Red Light District. And although I did wear them a few times, the trend just didn’t stick and I eventually sold them. Will this be season that the trend actually takes off? [blockquote]After all Helene is quite the fashionista and knows how to put a look together and would’t be caught dead looking like a Marcia Brady cast off—Allie of ALLIE NYC[/blockquote]And if it does, do you think bloggers and street style fashion will have a hand in this? I personally find it refreshing, though I still love my skinny jeans for showing off my boots and shoes, but I am totally in the market for a sexy pair of flares. Today we are looking at a pair of flare cut jeans. I love the way Helene of Fashion Over Reason styled her pair of flare jeans from Lucky Brand. The faux fur vintage coat and wide belt fit with the 7os era look, but the black bag and Helene’s swingy modern lob keep the look firmly planted in 2015. After all Helene is quite the fashionista and knows how to put a look together and would’t be caught dead looking like a Marcia Brady cast off.
I currently do not own a pair wide legged, or flare cut jeans but this just may be my next purchase. To see more from Helene’s 70s inspired look head on over to Fashion Over Reason. And what do you think of flares? Would you wear flares? If so, would you wear high waisted flares or low waisted? And would you keep it to jeans only? Or would you consider wearing bell bottom pants as well?

Cool I like the flare but not to big on me since I’m short.
I would so wear high waisted flares.
If I was any younger and had a more toned stomach I would probably go for the low flares.

Ok we’re all about flares right now and this inspo photo is everything for next fall!! Right now, if we can manage major flared jeans in this heat, it’s only with tiny crop tops and some amazing chunky sandals.

I really love flare jeans because it gives the illusion of thinner and longer legs. Great post 🙂
Have a nice day, Allie!

I do like the look of flares but they really have to be worn with some sort of heel so I will probably be passing on this trend since my janky ankle still doesn’t like heels and I don’t like to be in pain.
First of all, I’ll admit that I am one of the least fashionable person you’ll ever meet in your life but from what I have seen through blogging for more than a year, fashion and makeup trends have definitely changed over the years. And bloggers definitely have a huge role in the new wave of change. They are everywhere now and are a huge driving force in trends. I personally think there are more people reading blogs for reviews and to keep up-to-date with the latest trends instead of picking up a magazine.
That being said, I think flare jeans trend will stick this time around and fashion bloggers definitely have a hand in it.

I bought a pair of flare jeans, 3 years ago, and I absolutely loved them. I wear them maybe 4 times out of a year, and everytime I wear them I love it. But I don’t wear them as much. I’m wearing the hell out of them this year girl lol.

I do have a couple of pairs of flared jeans, though most of them are retired. And I have yet to take them out of the closet. But if they do start trending again, I might take them out.

I can’t get into the flared jeans, they don’t look good on my short legs.

Um that outfit is AMAZING!!! I love it. I am just not sure I can do the flares. I am short, so they kind of overwhelm me if they are too much… Although I know it is all about the 70s influence, I just don’t know how I feel about the flares!

I don’t own any flare jeans at the moment and I probably won’t for quite some time. I try not to invest in trends – I like to save my money for classic pieces that will be in fashion for many years. I get their allure but I’m sticking to my skinnies for now 🙂

I would love to find some high waisted flares 🙂
Flared jeans always come back when the weather gets warmer and every time, I regret letting my flared jeans go from back in the day! Love this post and your blog! 🙂

I think I’m going to save this picture in my Pinterest and will definitely style it for a post over my blog soon. I have a flare jeans from 7FAM for a while and I’ve even styled it a few times. I’ve not done it with a jacket yet so probably I would. Seems like the 70s are definitely coming back! =D
