This Jackie O styled set in soft shades of pale pink, lavender, custard and a sunny orange is at once classic and modern. And I for one would not be opposed to our current first lady stepping out in this stunner
With a dreamy elegance and whimsical aesthetic of flowers and feathers Carolina Herrera’s resort collection for 2016 is a leisurely romp of sensuous sophistication. Artful draping and expert tailoring combine in an ageless effect where a seventies inspired flowing trouser set feels equally at home along side fifties era gowns and smart retro cut  A-line frocks and a two piece Jacqueline Kennedy worthy “suit”. This Jackie O styled set in soft shades of pale pink, lavender, custard and a sunny orange is at once classic and modern. And I for one would not be opposed to our current first lady stepping out in this stunner. Sheath dresses, maxi dresses and flirty numbers perfect for lunch with the ladies offer up a variety of frocks with the occasional pant making an appearance in a long, lose-fitting approach. The pallette of soft sorbets is balanced by more intense saturated tones of chartreuse, tangerine and navy, and give the impression of late day in April when the air first starts to turn warm and the blue of the sky begins to deepen. Spring is around the corner and this is reflected in exquisite prints of English Garden florals and a beautifully illustrated feather motif—over-sized and striking on gowns and then reappearing more refined in a delicate pattern of navy and salmon on party dresses and blouses. With a striking balance of soft floral prints, appliqué, and layered textures the resort collection is a hint of things to come with the spring lineup, and is a very lady-like entry in to the summer season.

Carolina Herrera amazing designer capture a woman essence and put it on the runway.
Nice. Very nice. On TV yesterday, I saw Constance Zimmer at a fancy event wearing a dress almost identical to these; she looked smashing.
This collection is so feminine and sophisticated. Much like the designer herself. The retro vibe is very charming as well.
gorgeous outfits. Amazing shots

Swoon! These are so stunning. I really love the yellow dress, and adore that-flamingo pink furry outfit. Such opulence.

Carolina Herrera is not as huge in Malaysia (I think). I never hear anyone mentioning or talking about the brand but I noticed that it’s huge here and with a darn good reason too. Love this collection and yes, dreamy was the first word that came into my mind too.

I love this modern spin on ladylike pieces! That fur suit is beautiful and so fun 🙂
I absolutely love the large scale prints on some of these! The feather prints are gorgeous, but my absolute favorite is the dark strapless number with white flowers on top. So much impact!

Ugh this collection is gorgeous… I want every piece! Nowhere to wear it right now with all the snow though. Hope you are keeping warm!
This collection makes me yearn for Spring, even though it feels like Winter is just starting in Souther Cali.. I adore the last dress so much because of the palm print on it. I’d love to wear it!

I absolutely love Carolina Herrera!! She’s one of my favorite designers. And Jackie Kennedy is one of my style icons! CH’s 2016 resort collection is stunning but I’m not surprised. I love her feminine shapes and her creative use of color – definitely fits Jackie’s style. Great post!
