Throwback Thursday Backstage @NYFW

but I do love a challenge when it comes to photography, it is through challenges that you learn, right?

I love candid backstage photography much like street style I find it in some ways more engaging then front of house. No, I did not take these photos, I wish! One day I hope to shoot backstage. Though shooting at events like this at times can be daunting due to multiple light sources, and a lack of space but I do love a challenge when it comes to photography, it is through challenges that you learn, right?  These images were captured backstage during the Oxford Fashion Studio shows.

So many great shots here, the space had wonderful light. Perfect for an event like this. The shows were held at Studio 450, a beautiful space that some of you may have seen in my Fashion Week Vlog. And look closely, that is me in the background. Too funny!

fashion is not just about clothes and consumption but it is also about art, transformation and talent

Well I hope you enjoyed this round up and throwback to the backstage madness and magic of New York Fashion Week. It is my pleasure and my passion to bring it all you my dear readers. For fashion is not just about clothes and consumption but it is also about art, transformation and talent.

  1. Candid backstage photography is so much more fun than runway photography. When I interned at Ralph Lauren during college I always looked forward to documenting all the backstage happenings during the Fashion Weeks. It was such great photography training.

  8. I really love this photo shoot. I love the behind the scenes photography.
I was surprised when you said you did not take them because they certainly block as though you did. I do find it is sort of pictures very engaging much more so than one way photos which tend to be so rehearsed.
Oh and that last golden gown!

  15. I absolutely adore backstage photography from fashion shows, the atmosphere is almost tangible through the screen and it shows a whole other depth to a collection. Speaking of which, you’ve captured these outfits beautifully and I’m dying over some of the embellishment. Wow!

  23. As usual very interesting post! Thanks a lot for sharing)

  24. I actually think that there are more stories in the back stage compared to the show itself. You will see true colors and what it takes to pull up a great show. Fantastic photos.
