Lookbook Friday is back. It was on a bit of an hiatus. With Fashion Week, the March For Our Lives rally and my family visiting from Paris I had to put it on the back burner. But it is back and today we are looking at the Fall 2018 collection of Catherine Casias.
Catherine Casias studied philosophy and illustration in addition to fashion design. She earned her degree at the Parsons School of Design and her background in art is evident. Casais draws her illustrations by hand and paints exquisite prints for the textiles she creates for her garments. And it is the beauty of the textiles that is the strength of this collection.
a modern aesthetic that is tapping in to the streetwear culture that is taking fashion by storm
With it’s geometric shapes and kaleidoscope patterning the effect is at once arresting and sophisticated. The tops in particular have a modern aesthetic that is tapping in to the streetwear culture that is taking fashion by storm. I could see this label really making a name for itself in the industry merging these striking prints with the effortlessness of well done streetwear garments. And I am excited to see how this label will grow and evolve in the future.
