Pam&GelaSign

Last week I had the pleasure of attending a talk and book signing with the infamous founders of Juicy Couture, Pamela Skaist-Levy and Gela Nash-Taylor. The event was held at Bloomingdales and the host for the evening was the Editor-in-Chief of Harper’s Bazaar  Glenda Bailey. Glenda was the perfect ying to Pam and Gela’s yang. Trading quick-witted jokes and dishing on behind the scenes shenanigans, this was not a laced up Q&A. The evening was full of insightful stories, helpful advice and plenty of laughs. Pamela and Gela spoke about their early days, how the company grew with the help of celebrity fans, and how they did not recognize the company they built when it got too big to be cool. They knew then it was time to sell, and they did, to the tune of 250 million dollars. They sold their world renown brand to Liz Claiborne and never looked back. But not they type of girls to retire poolside they recently launched a new line aptly named Pam & Gela. The line is currently being sold at Bloomingdales as well as a number other online retailers. Staying true to their hallmark of making edgy but comfortable casual clothing, I am sure the rock and roll spirit that catapulted them in to the fashion stratosphere will fuel them on their next big adventure. So rest assured friends, the party has just begun! And be sure to check out my  post over at MadebyGirl
