“Charmed I’m sure” is the name of the new fall line from Erin Fetherston. And charming it is. Erin is of course, known for making flirty dresses and party frocks that are both youthful and girlie. This collection has all the attributes the designer is famous for, but with a retro twist. Layers of pale pink and chartreuse lace, rich embroidered fabrics and gorgeous life like prints are found in mid-century silhouettes and Mad Men era inspired lines. From the lady-like pink lace, tea length number, to the “mod” royal blue mini dress, and the color blocked, strapless two tiered evening gown, the garments in this collection are a definite nod to a bygone era. Apparently the line was inspired by the famous Barbizon Hotel in NY—a residence for single, career orientated women in the 50s, 60s and 70s. Well, we have come quite a long way from the days where single women had to live in designated hotels but that doesn’t mean we can’t appreciate a cute kitten heel and a “charming” party frock. Right? Happy Friday everyone!
