Maje Winter 2016 For Lookbook Friday

OK, I am going to go ahead and admit it—I have a major crush on Maje. With it’s I’m too cool for school downtown girl uniform of black, black, and more black you would think there be a yawn or two in the bunch, but nope, this collection is brimming with edgy youthful looks that could easily be on the backs of the most sought after it girls.

From a head to toe lace jumpsuit and matching cape, to a retro inspired single breasted trench, to a mod era vinyl jacket incarnation, the color black makes quite the statement and is certainly photo op approved. This sea of black is broken up with rich burgundy, a royal navy and the occasional appearance of white and pastel shades. The monochromatic tone of the lineup is also balanced by sumptuous florals and a classic checkered pattern which adds the right amount of interest to keep the collection from being too much of an homage to the cult of noir. Throw in some over the knee boots, a navy shearling coat and plenty of attitude, and Maje’s offering for Winter 2016 is perfect balance of it girl chic and classic sophistication.
