S
pring has arrived in a big way this weekend, in fact it felt more like summer. With temperatures above normal after two months of temperatures being below normal it was a bit of shock, but in a good way. Friday started out cold and rainy and ended warm and sunny with temperatures in the low seventies, it was a perfect evening to step out for dinner and drinks with some fellow bloggers. So along with bloggers Lynn from Accidental Icon, Renata from Purse Fixation and Anita from Look For The Woman we headed to a nice little french cafe for some vino, tasty appetizers and lively inspiring conversation. For this evening out I chose to wear a pair of boxy trousers and a quilted pull over both from French Connection. The “flood” cut of the trousers allows the shoes you are wearing to take center stage, in this case I am wearing a pair of booties I picked up at H&M a few years ago but as the weather gets warmer I could wear these trousers with high heeled sandals, open toed booties or pumps. In cooler weather I could wear them with long socks and higher cut boots. Quite versatile I must say, and they currently have a pin striped pair on sale check them out here. And this top is so fun with it’s quilted textile and great fit it is perfect to wear with some statement jewelry and for this look I layered two necklaces together. I may have even been able to get away with a third necklace, right? The chain necklace I picked up at the Brooklyn Flea last summer and the gun metal gray necklace I bought online at a site called Gomatta Girls, which sad to say it no longer around. My regular readers know I am a fan of the boxy non body con trend so this look was super fun for me to wear. I love the unfussy quite chicness of a look like this, don’t you?Images owned by ALLIE NYC©, please do not use without permission and or crediting/linking back to allienyc.com

April 20, 2015Glad to hear you’ve been out enjoying the lovely Spring weather. It’s about time. I like the minimalism of the outfit and the edgy necklaces you styled it with. I’ve been looking for a pair of boxy trousers. I’ll have to try to stop by French Connection soon.

April 21, 2015I love boxy tops, I think I’ve always loved boxy tops. There’s something about them that is so chic. And you don’t need to have on something skin tight to look stylish. You look amazing Allie. I love those pants girl. Time to go shopping again lol.
