Well I am back from Paris and back at work. It was a wonderful trip and I can’t wait to go back. Paris is needless to say a beautiful city and everywhere you turn or glance is like a work of art with excuisite architecture, sculptures and fountains. Everything is pleasing to the eye; even sign posts and street lights are ornate and beautiful to look at. And the metro blows NYC’s transit system out of the water. The trains every two minutes and they are faster with a smoother ride. No one pushes and shoves to get on the train, or tries to hold the doors open. The conductors don’t yell at the passengers to stop holding the door open, and for the most part no one is angry. But when the trains run every two minutes if you miss it, no biggie, you will just get on the next one. I was surprised how easy it was to get around Paris.
My step brother took this picture and I had only been in Paris a little over an hour. He took me to the center of the city to walk around so I could marvel at the majestic buildings around me. We also took the family dog Maya with us, and if you want to make friends in Paris just walk around with a cute little dog—everyone will stop you. I was exhausted but so excited, no sleep after my over night flight so I was running on adreline. But this was just the beginning of my trip. I attended fashion shows and presentations, I went to the Shop Style Social House event held in Pairs, I went to the theater, out to dinner in the west end of Paris and even got a blow out which I researched online and found my way to and communicated my desires all on own! Not bad for an English speaker, right?

And the biggest surprise of all I got a text from a friend who inquired if I was in Paris. I was quite astonished as I had not spoken with her since May because she spent the summer in London finishing up her studies. She works at a montessorie and is in training to advance in her career. She has gone to London the last three summers and generally returns to NY at the end of August. But with my step family visiting from Paris in August and then NYFW immediately following this, and then my trip to Paris immediately following NYFW I did not have time to connect with her. She is not on social media so I had no idea how she knew. Turns out a mutual friend of ours saw my posts on Instagram and told her. I didn’t even know this person was on Instagram as she rarely posts. At any rate I replied back to my friend Gail, that yes I was in Paris. She texted me back that she too was in Paris. What? She then texted, that she was living there. Double what?? She was offered a job at the end her studies in London to speak English to pre-school French children. She left her job in New York of eighteen years with one weeks notice, and went directly from London to Paris.
I couldn’t believe it! What a surprise! So I got to spend the second half of my trip running around with my friend Gail. Crazy right? And stay tuned for more posts on my trip to the city of lights.

Welcome back! Sounds like you had some great adventures in Paris! So cool that you were able to hang out with your old friend there. Yes I agree the Paris Metro is a model of efficiency especially when compared to our local MTA. The only thing I didn’t care for was the drug use on the trains there.
Descendants of the Sun which is the best K-drama I’ve watched this year is on Netflix now. You should check it out!
Every teeny bit of Paris is indeed beautiful to the last detail. Enjoy your vacation!

I’m glad you had a great trip, I wish I could visit Paris too!
Great post!
It’s amazing how things turn out. And wonderful too. Paris is such a beautiful city. One thing I remember from it is everyone’s fondness for animals, especially dogs. You see them with their humans everywhere!
