Bursts of sequins reveal themselves in botanical patterns and can be found on a number of garments while woven appliqués enhance the overall effect of texture and grace which is central to the collection and strikes a balance somewhere between decadence and minimalism
Last week I wrote about Cynthia Rowley’s Beauty The Game Face eye shadow palette, and today we are looking at Cynthia Rowley’s collection for Spring 2016. And looking at this collection it should come as no surprise that Cynthia and her daughters are avid surfers. Inspired by love of surfing and how the human body looks while riding the waves Cynthia Rowley sought to capture the essence of this experience in her line up for spring 2016. Flowing silhouettes expressed in billowing dresses, slouchy knits, and wide leg trousers are balanced by the more restrained sleek neoprene pants, A-line ankle grazing wet suit like frocks, and fitted lace tunics. Bursts of sequins reveal themselves in botanical patterns and can be found on a number of garments while woven appliqués enhance the overall effect of texture and grace which is central to the collection and strikes a balance somewhere between decadence and minimalism. With a streak of a seventies inspired aesthetic moving throughout the collection the feeling is one of relaxed indifference. From the bell sleeved mini dress in a pattern that can only be described as a psychedelic marine outcropping, to the heavily textured tatter chiffon dress with it’s tinsel like collar, to the embellished wide lapel tunic tops, and electric orange satin trouser set and wonderful leaf motif patterned two piece ensemble, this collection celebrates the beauty of the natural world while also revealing the beauty of the human body. And this in essence does capture the experience of that singular moment when the movement of life is exposed in all it’s mysterious glory. To see more from this collection head to CynthiaRowley.com

December 21, 2015How did you know I was a Cynthia Rowley fan? This year I am definitely loving the prints. I am not a huge print wearer, but I will say I am loving the simplistic lines of each piece. I haven’t seen this lookbook so thank you for posting it Allie.
