Stephanie Lin—Designer, Student and Blogger

Stephanie-Design-1

Perhaps I should have posted this on Friday for my Look Book Friday series but I could not wait to share this with you. This is the first look book I produced. It is for a young designer named Stephanie Lin. Stephanie is a fashion apparel designer and student and she is also a blogger. I have been following her blog Sartorial Diner for a while now, and I was super excited to work with her on this project.

Stephanie attends the Parson’s School of Design here in New York and she is getting ready to graduate. Stephanie needed a lookbook and line sheets for her final project and collection, so I put together a team and we headed in to the studio. Stephanie’s collection is at once organic and urban. She likes to work with large pieces of fabric and prefers a minimalist approach, which as we know is totally on trend with what we have been seeing on the runways. Unlike many students who will experience a bit of an anti-climatic let down when they graduate Stephanie is headed to Germany this summer to work for Espirit. Stephanie was one of a handful of graduating students chosen to help the company rebrand their line as they  are moving in a new direction and plan on reentering the American market. I am so excited for her, and I am excited to see what the future holds for her.

The team I put together did a wonderful job and I look forward to working with them again. The photography is by the wonderfully talented Catherine May Taylor, who as my regular followers will know I have worked with before. She shot two looks for me—you can see the last one here, and she is always a pleasure to work with. The makeup and hair was by Christina Nicole who also did the makeup on the shoot with model Lindsey Michelle which was also shot by Catherine. And the model we used this time around is named Jennifer Essig. Jennifer just moved to New York to start her modeling career and I was so happy I could book her for this shoot. I look forward to producing and directing more shoots and lookbooks, and for any aspiring and up and coming designers out there, if you need help with producing your lookbook give me a holler. We have a great team at reasonable rates and love what we do.
