T here has been much talk in the last few years of the democratization of fashion. The idea that fashion can be fun and can be embraced by the many. Yes, street style inspired fashion is nothing new, but Moschino’s Resort Collection for 2015 is certainly a giggle inspiring romp down the “streetz” of fashiondom. An unabashed celebration of self promotion, and an unapologetic exploration of the new money aesthetic with a pop culture twist and a nod to hip hop, this collection is for the girl (or boy) who does’t take fashion too seriously. [blockquote]this is pop art that is not content to hang on wall but wants to take the streets from which  it came[/blockquote]From the gum wrapper dress to the T-shirt handbag the pop art influence is obvious, but this is pop art that is not content to hang on wall but wants to take the streets from which  it came. The pieces in this collection are for the girl that not only wants to make a statement, but who wants to break the rules while doing so. Hot pink and chartreuse fishnet, gold logo embossed pumps, refined tweeds in shades of bubble gum and stark white, faded, curve hugging denim, and plenty of gold, black, and more gold, come together in a “nothing comes between me and my Moschino’s” attitude of desire and decadence. A Chanlesque money suit boldly dares the viewer to notice its’s happy embracement of what makes the world go round. And who wouldn’t want to wear a giant, over-sized, gold, money symbol necklace on their chest? Well ,yes, there are some who wouldn’t dare wear such an in-your-face piece, but this collection and Moschino, are not for the demure or refined young women.  So if you are feeling rebellious and feel the need to shake things up a bit, a piece from this collection could just do the trick. I mean how cool are those “Moschino” pumps?

  9. Love the vibe of this collection! It’s so fun and tongue in cheek 🙂

  10. I’m not a fan of the whole “designer-designer” thing, a term Victoria Beckham coined so many moons ago. The kind where brand names are visible and plastered everywhere. The kind were people know who you’re wearing. But these Moschino collections I effing adore. I’ve loved all the blatant name dropping and over the top gold accents and at times I’ve wanted even more. This collection is giving me all that. And though I don’t think I’d see myself wearing it, with exception to the “this is not a Moschino t-shirt” t-shirt I still bloody love drooling over it.

BTW did I see on Google+ that it’s your birthday? Do we share the same birthday girl?! Happy birthday to you!

  12. That yellow number is positively playful! Love it!

  13. I’m not sure how I feel about this collection, some of it seems more like art to me then wearable street fashion. Not really my type of flow, but I can totally see some celebs rocking these pieces! They are a bit more daring and liberal then myself!
