Last week I had the privilege of attending Michelle Helene’s SS 2017 presentation for NYFW. With summer still in full effect it was another scorcher on this day and I struggled to keep my look cool and collected. Yes there was sweat involved, maybe I should have sprung for an Uber. But being the dedicated fashionista that I am I arrived on time, and even had time to cool down a bit.

Held at Pier 59 Studios the presentation displayed a wonderfully eclectic collection of striking and whimsical graphical prints, from florals to bananas to a black and white take on a chevron pattern. The prints were balanced by solids in red, black and white. Silhouettes were relaxed, flirty and decidedly feminine though they steered clear of true body con cuts. Think a tomboy who suddenly discover that yes, she does indeed have a girlie side. I love this balance of the feminine and the masculine. And there was more then piece I could see myself wearing. Be it a denim jumpsuit, or a red slip dress, or ruffled lace top, the pieces in this collection are an eclectic celebration of leisure wear.

  8. Surprisingly I am really liking this collection! I’m not sure if it’s the influence from the numerous fashion blogs that I read every week or what but I would be more than happy to wear any of these.
