Last week I wrote about the Zimmerman dress trend and the super girlie frocks which feature layers of ruffles and lace and are an homage to the ethereal side of the feminine spirit. Well in todays LookBook Friday we are looking at LoveShack Fancy’s resort collection for 2018. The brand which epitomizes this aesthetic was founded by Rebecca Hessel Cohen a former fashion and beauty editor at Cosmopolitan.
Cohen became frustrated while planning her wedding when she was unable to find bridesmaid dresses that suited the more bohemian feel she had in mind. She decided to design her own bridesmaid dresses and within three years this newly discover passion culminated in the launch of LoveShack Fancy.

With it’s expected trademark ruffles and easy breezy flowing silhouettes acting as the cornerstone of the collection, it explores a vaguely folksy vibe in an exquisite geometric patterned embroidery that adorns dresses and jackets alike. Ropy belts, tassels and pom poms add to this folksy inspired element; while muted solids in navy and burgundy intermix with crisp whites, seersucker like stripes and the occasional appearance of a metallic textile. Hemlines are long, short and everywhere in between. This brand may only be five years old but with the current buzz around it I see quite the long future for this upstart label.

This brand is new to me and I really like the sweet boho chic vibe of the collection as well as the sue of ruffles which have become a favorite detail of late.
Love Shack Fancy has quickly become one of my favorite brands! I find that they do such a good job of mixing every style together – bohemian, tropical, beach, night out, city day, etc. – to create a brand new, unique look! I think their items of apparel also are really reasonably priced. Of course they’re not inexpensive, but that’s to be expected when you are getting such great quality pieces. The pink/purple dress and the black jacket with coloured detailing are favorite pieces of mine!
