Alexander Wang has always kind of went his own way, and after seeing boxy, relaxed fit and minimalist garments marching down the runways for the last couple of seasons, Wang’s striking body conscious and darkly sexy collection is a welcome change. Blame it on Christian Grey and his um “appetite” but bondage wear is becoming a trend, and this can certainly be seen in Alexander Wang’s pre fall collection. Skirts are long and tight, in sensuous fabrics like velvet, leather, fishnet and a stretchy, puckered body clinging nylon like material which makes one think of under garments. Slip dresses in a satin like finish with barely there spaghetti straps in smoky shades of black and olive green embrace the female form with a simple sensuality. This overt sexuality is tempered (just a little) by more masculine influences like the men’s fit tailored trousers, the utilitarian jumpsuit in a black snakeskin print, and the cargo pants paired with a form fitting leather top. A men’s dressing gown inspired coat in black leather, suggests a how a women would look in her lover’s bathrobe. Gray plaid and wide paneled stripes break up the neutral pallet of solids in black, white, nude, olive green and burgundy. Fishnet tights, sixties inspired suede go go booties and cut out pumps round out this uber sexy collection and make me want to embrace my inner Anastasia Steele. This fashion is outstanding love the beige is so me have a great weekend.
That leather dress with the zippers is so fantastic!! Oh I would love to add that to my closet.
I actually like this collection from him! As you said, it’s sensuous and I love the understated sexiness vibe of it. The last two pictures are my favourites, I can see myself wearing both!

Wow, what a stunning collection. I do not think there is a single piece I do not love but my favorite is the green skirt.
As a long time fan of Wang, I would definitely consider wearing these pieces, especially the first two looks. I also love the last olive green dress. I can’t wait to the change in season. <3

I’ve always admired how Alexander Wang does his own thing. This collection definitely has an undercurrent of sensuality and the masculine touches are quite fetching.
Pretty sure the Yoplait commercials are imitating Amelie. The set design is similar and the actress in it even has Audrey Tautou’s haircut from the movie.
Very interesting designs. Thanks for introducing us to them.
Great post as always sweetie!!

I like this collection, it is body con without being too overtly sexy. Love the leather bathrobe coat and croc bag! Thanks for sharing!

I like this collection a lot! I appreciated the past several seasons from Alex Wang without really liking them… the aesthetic was very uptown for a while and the collections just sort of lost their coolness (or at least I thought so). Years ago I used to get tons of things at the sample sale but I haven’t gone lately. Maybe next year I’ll go again 🙂
That zipper dress is so fabulous!
Girl, these pieces are to die for especially the zippered one second up from the bottom, th jumper in the first pic and that asymmetrical green skirt!
