T he trend away from skinny jeans and body con looks brings us a wonderfully breathable way to look our fashion forward best. And the new Resort collection from Gucci for spring 2015 is quite the breath of fresh air. Sharp pastels, saturated reds and yellows, crisp navy, mossy green, traditional neutrals and bone make for a clean but vibrant color palette. Solids area broken up with botanical prints and minimalist pieces are accentuated with a bit of decadence like the “crystal” studded khaki and denim skirts and the blue and white striped pull-over sweater. Stripes are repeated in a number of tops and paired with the uber wide-leg sailor pants and give the collection a streamlined nautical feel. Snake skin coats and boots are quite an unsettling contrast to the floral and fauna found in the aline slip dresses. Frida Giannini specifically chose plants that bloom at dusk, evening or at night to create her arresting prints—these are not the garden tea part florals grandma likes to wear. And the 70s trend we saw on the runways is present as well and can be seen in the man tailored button down dresses, straight cut mini skirts, and super flared acid washed jeans. Simple elegance in the demure day dresses with prim belts at the waist, give this kinetic collection a touch of understated calm and timeless sophistication. This line is for the girl who thinks like a lady but has the sole of a bohemian.

I totally love everything. That grown is amazing!! Happy Friday.
This collection had me with that first dress… that silhouette and gorgeous hue of blue!
The prints and tailoring are making me think of Spring, sunshine and easy, dressing. Winter clothes and coats are so heavy and actually make me feel tired. I am so ready for clothes that move and flow. These are great looks.
