A Paisie Winter Teddy Bear Coat and a creepy postal worker

Yes winter has finally arrived here in New York. And as we head towards NYFW I suspect it may get even colder. It seems no matter how mild a winter may be when NYFW arrives it brings the polar vortex along with it. This weekend it was in the mid twenties for a high. So it was a cold one and being out and about was a bit of a challenge. In fact the start to my entire day on Saturday was a bit of a challenge.

The first fly in the ointment was when I realized I had left my phone at home. Great. How was I going to contact my friend Angela who I was meeting up with? Luckily I was going to get my hair done at the salon where my friend also has her hair done so I was able to ask the owner if she had Angela’s number on file and she did, so I was able to call Angela and give her the low down. Whew. Then after I realized that I had left my phone at home I discovered that I left my ear muffs on the train. Ugh. And then when we finally went to shoot, I realized I had brought the wrong lens.

Ok so far the morning had gone just GREAT! Grrrr. Between an intense full-time job in publishing, maintaing a blog full-time and the current geo-political situation, I am more then a little stressed. And to top it off, towards the end of our shoot a postal worker who had been sitting in his truck, came up to us and asked if we wanted to continue the shoot in his truck. Umm, what? My friend Angela was aghast. I decided right then and there I needed a drink. And we  quickly packed up and headed to lunch, and I did indeed order a much needed glass of wine.

Now on to the clothes. Is this a great teddy bear coat or what? I purchased it online from a company called Paisie. I had seen a young woman wearing it as I was waiting in line at Starbucks. I asked her where she got it and she told me about this British company called Paisie. As soon as I got back to my desk I headed to said website, found the coat, which luckily for me they had in my size and promptly bought it. Plus it was on sale! This was a good day.

The top which I think is intended to be worn as a dress is from Vivienne Tam. And the patch work jeans are from Gap. And as many of know the boots are from Zara which I wrote about in this post. I love these booties, super fun to wear and uber comfortable. The sunnies are from Michael Kors and the bag was a Christmas gift from my sister and is from Onna Ehrlich’s winter collection. But it is the teddy bear coat that really pulls this look together. Do you have a teddy bear coat? Do you like them? And if you do, how do you style yours?
