Nothing is lovelier then spending a crisp fall day strolling in Brooklyn. The brownstones and tree lined streets with their changing colors and dappled sunlight so puts one in the mood to shop for Christmas. I did a bit of this and picked up few things for myself as well. I will be vlogging about this in the not too distant future.

Today I am sharing with you what I wore for this excursion. You have seen this top before in my NYFW vlog. When I wore it to NYFW I paired it with a pleated metallic skirt and suede mules for a very dressed up look. Here, I am dressing it down with distressed jeans and low heeled ankle boots. The necklaces which I layered together are from J Crew and COS. Both the top and the jeans are from H&M and the boots which you may have seen on my What I wore to Paris Fashion Week post are from Guess.

Don’t you love when clothes can do double duty? From chic fashion week events to running errands you can’t go wrong with a ruffle top.

A Mango Winter Coat, A J Crew Sweater and a Fun Winter Look

Fashion - [email protected] - December 14, 2015

I have been wanting to pick up a non body con coat for quite some time now. I have a couple of winter coats that are form fitting which I do like, but it can make wearing blazers and bulky sweaters a bit difficult. So when I spied this extra long double breasted man tailored coat at Mango, I knew I had to have it.

It is not a heavy wool coat so it is probably not going to work for extremely cold weather but is perfect for warmer winter days when the temperatures are in the forties and fifties. Although with the more generous cut you could wear it with layers of warm clothes and  so you may even get away with wearing it when the temperatures drop in to the thirties.

Here I paired it with a long sleeved striped sweater from J Crew, gray jeans from SOLD Design Lab, and white Vans. Then I added a boxy handbag from Guess in a fun burgundy red color which brightens up the whole look. The double breasted gold buttons also had an interesting detail to the outfit and ties in nicely with the nautical feel of the stripes. The sweater, coat and the vans were all on sale when I bought them. But you know me the consummate bargainista, I love to get a good deal!

My Last Look For A Night Out On The Town

I love finding a good bargain don’t you? I wore this look a couple of weeks ago when I went out with some friends in the Meat Packing District. And I must say, navigating the cobble stone streets this area is known for in these booties, was no easy task. But aren’t they stunning and worth the struggle? I picked up these booties by Guess at the second hand shop Buffalo Exchange for $23.00, total score. You can get similar pair at the Guess website, this pair is currently on sale, so hurry.  I wrote about this moto jacket from Zara before on the blog, I purchased this new for $99.00. It is not leather but could certainly pass for leather, and the upside is, that it is not a heavy as leather. And if you are a city dweller like me and do a lot of walking, this is good thing. You can check out the one they have right now for $119.00 here. I wore  mine over this gray sequined tee from Express which I paired with this fun skirt from Joe Fresh. The tee I also purchased second hand at Buffalo Exchange, but Express is currently carrying a cropped black sequined tee which would look super cool with a moto jacket and white mini skirt. Joe Fresh has an embroidered laser cut skirt for $69.00 which is a bit more then what I paid for mine but check it out, it has a fun 60”s vibe to it that I think you will like. So what do you consider when you put together a look for night out on the town? Comfort? Getting a date? Or possibly being photographed for a street style blog? Ok, just kidding on that last question. But let me know, what did you wear on your last night out on the town?
