Tis the season for bling, and who doesn’t love a little bling? OK there may be a few Scrooges out there that don’t embrace the bling but for the rest of us accessorizing for the holidays is a no brainer. And what could better for an inspirational resource then the streets of Paris? Truly, you can’t help but be inspired by such eye catching creativity.
For years statement necklaces were huge—pun intended, it was then followed by a seventies/eighties trend with lots of layered delicate gold necklaces. From name necklaces, to pendants to over-sized initials. We were all having a Carrie Bradshaw moment. Now the pendulum is swinging back to larger pieces that make more of statement, though not quite in the territory of Cleopatra gear, the trend towards less demure jewelry is heating up.
Gold was front and center for a long time now, but silver is starting to make inroads, and we saw this on both sexes and it was seen quite a bit expressed as over-sized link chain necklaces. Following along with this trend is the statement earrings or what some are calling door knocker earrings. These are big, long earrings that can be worn in pairs or mismatched or as a single piece. The gold foil effect is also trending, and it could be seen in apparel, in makeup, bags and footwear.
Truly, you can’t help but be inspired by such eye catching creativity
Caroline Daur sported multiple trends in her look from the a gold chain necklace to a gold foil paper bag clutch. This style of handbag is also having a moment. A bag sans hardware, straps or any obvious closures which looks like a rolled up paper bag was quite popular, from metallic gold to statement colors, the best dressed fashionistas stepped out with one of these popped under their arms.
a nice way to change it up if you are experiencing style fatigue on the much sought after beaded bag
Metallics were also reflected in actual metal like elements as well. And I saw a lot of chain metal like bags, in both silver and gold like effects which are a nice twist on the beaded bag which has been quite popular for a number of seasons and a nice way to change it up if you are experiencing style fatigue on the much sought after beaded bag. I would love to add one of these to my wardrobe. Wouldn’t you?
And Caroline was not alone when it comes to sporting multiple trends at once. Miki of Miki A Lamode effortlessly pulled off three trends in one with her look. Her gold foil top, over-sized chainlink necklace and exquisite statement earring all come together for one flawless look.
I hope this inspired you to get your bling on!

I tend to be less is more when it comes to accessories but I’m actually really liking the idea of sporting multiple trends at once and we shouldn’t forget that our handbags play into that as well. I love a good metallic bag 🙂
That gold bag is everything! I also love the star-moon trend I’ve been seeing so much of lately.

I love all the gold pieces, I used to be into silver and now I’ve come back round to gold. Those gold boots are a dream, would love a pair of those. Also love the gold celestial type earrings, I have some similar on my ‘want’ list!!! Absolutely stunning looks :))) Hope you are well lovely and having a sweet week so far!! xx
Ooooh nice post Allie!
In fact I had not seen similar content talking about jewelry, it is something that is usually omitted in blogs when they talk about trends or street style. In fact I think these are the small but very important details that put the cherry on top to our outfits, through which we can convey part of our personality and personal style 🙂
Eager to see how we adapt these trends in the daily life, I love that guys are daring to wear more jewels and that shiny things are going beyond necklaces and rings…. By the way I loved your picture of the red Bottega pouch, did you see it a lot in FW days?!
Best and thanks for your support 🙂
I love statement necklaces so always like to see how other people wear them! I really need more gold necklaces, I don’t have a lot! Lots of colourful ones though 🙂
Hope that you’re having a great week 🙂 I spent the day out with my mum today 🙂
There was so much sparkle happening- I’m into it! And pretty sure I gasped in delight at those tall gold boots!

The golden bags are my favourite. I don’t tend to wear too much bling but I will don a gilded piece anytime — gold jewellery is my favourite, if nothing else. <3

The mini crushed metallic foil-style tote bag is SO gorgeous and definitely eye-catching! I’m
also enjoying seeing chunky gold-tone chains appearing left, right and centre and it’s a trend I’ve been wearing nearly everyday for the past week! Merry Christmas 🙂
