The New Years Eve Party Frock

Yes it will soon be 2020, hard to imagine in some ways. With a year like double 2 double 0 it seems everything is possible. OK, so maybe that is just wishful thinking, l mean news fatigue aside I do know what is going on in the world. But New Years Eve is one of those days or should I say evenings when we want to forget our troubles. And nothing makes one feel better then getting dressed up. Everyone feels like a million bucks when they are wearing their best frock. And one does not have to break the bank to look like a million and one does not necessarily have to wear said frock.

You could opt for a man tailored sequined tuxedo, or if this is a bit to masculine for your taste but you want to party sans the

dress, consider a sequined jumpsuit of a sequined two piece like this one from BCBG. But if you do love a sparkly party frock then there is plenty to choose from: sequins, feathers, tulle metallics, long short and somewhere in between you won’t be challenged to find the perfect dress. I rounded up a number of them from the more affordable In The Style to the decadent but impeccably designed Marchesa dresses I hit all price points. So if you are ringing in the new year at gala soiree and have not yet found something to wear look no further.

So ladies, what will YOU be wearing for New Years’s Eve this year? Black? White? A shock of pink, red, gold? Do you go all out, or are you more a minimalist? Please do tell. And for more holiday inspiration be sure to check out NotJessFashion, love the drapy sequined number she is wearing here. Plus her home and children are just as delightful. True inspiration for sure.

  3. Any of these options would be so chic and fabulous. I really love the idea of a man tailored sequined tuxedo and I think it could be quite feminine if you style and accessorize it a certain way. We haven’t firmed up any plans for NYE yet and I think we may end up staying in and having hot pot.

  4. The dresses are very chic and sophisticated, they would be perfect for New Year’s Eve party. I have to say though that I prefere the jumpsuit and the evening complete.

  5. Such pretty party dresses! My NYE party days are behind me – even though it’s a new decade I’ll be spending it the same I have the past few years, in bed asleep as life with two toddlers is tiring, haha! 🙂

Hope that you’re having a great weekend 🙂 We went to our last Christmas party for the season yesterday, it was a lot of fun!

  6. I’m going all out for NYE with gold and sequins! Super excited!!!
    Happy Holidays Allie!

  9. These are rockin NYE outfits for sure, Allie! I love that BCBG piece the most. As for my outfit, I don’t know if I’m going out that night, but I really wanna sew something up. I don’t know if I’ll have the time though, but something shiny would be nice for sure:)

  10. I love these NYE looks! It is great that there are so many outfit combinations. I love Jessica’s picks for fashion – she does a great job with styling and rocking everything she wears!

  13. I love all of these ideas, I have always wanted to get out of my comfort zone and wear one of these sparkly/bedazzled dresses, but probably will be a next time, this year I will try to keep it super simple and comfortable, especially since we still have this crazy heat-wave in here and I just don’t want to wear anything tight or something like that. haha 🙂

  28. I’m definitely more of a minimalist. I’ve never been a big sequin gal so i think I’ll go for a little black or red dress and pair it with a statement earring.

  29. Hey Allie, hope you’re doing great! Are you ready for holidays? I hope so, I wish you the best for this season and a fantastic 2020 🙂

Very nice proposals! You posted a bunch of interesting looks and this lookbook is so festive and dreamy, as you said who doesn’t love shiny things? Especially when it comes to new years eve! I’d say this is something you can explore a lot with accessories and there isn’t necessary to spend all our savings for something you will wear only one night… Actually many of these pieces in the pictures can be worn many times during the year!

    Best!

  31. Speaking of New Year’s eve parties, two years ago, I went for a metallic gold and black dress. This year, I am thinking of ditching the glitter and going for a leopard print dress with flashing gold accessories. It would be fun! 🙂

  32. I’m loving all the metallics and sequin! Great inspiration!

  33. Love all of these looks and first is definitely my favorite! Thank you for sharing!
    Wishing you a wonderful holiday!:)

  36. Oh, wow, very elegant suggestions. I’m going to a club here in Hong Kong on New Year’s, but my travel gear is so light that I’ll be looking very casual. No space in the suitcase for sparkly dresses.
The thing about New Year’s is that it falls in WINTER so these tiny dresses with sandals just don’t always work for me.

  37. I love all of these combination and inspiration. They are perfect for New Years Eve. Thank you for sharing and Happy Holidays. dear.

  41. These are all beautiful outfit ideas for New Year’s Eve! A jumpsuit is a great idea for dressing up but still being comfortable. I will probably be going more minimal this year with an all black look.

  42. I’m more of a minimal fan with some accessories to jazz it up – this year for NYE I have a plain green dress but I’m pairing it with sparkly heels and a bit of bling. It’s only a house party but I love dressing up for NYE every year!

  43. These are very stylish ideas love. I especially love to wear sequins for the new year, but I can also be a minimalist depending on what I’m doing. Thanks for these ideas.
