I am a sucker for a good fragrance and I am somewhat sensitive to scents. In fact I don’t use non-scented cosmetics because I find just because they are fragrance free does’t mean they do not have an underlying oder—which always seems to be kind of medicinal. So yeah, I am picky when it comes to how things smell.
When it comes to perfumes I don’t like overly sweet scents. I generally like fragrances that are slightly floral, predominately spicy with undertones of musk. I prefer more complicated layered scents. And as many of you know I am a graphic designer, so of course I am all about gorgeous packaging.
All the scents are unique and have just the right balance of being feminine without being too sweet and none of them have that department store “perfumey” smell
So with NEST, for me, it is a win-win. The scent is hands down the most important part. So when I was in Birch Box and saw the NEST section the packaging caught my eye but the scents won me over. All the scents are unique and have just the right balance of being feminine without being too sweet and none of them have that department store “perfumey” smell.
For my first purchase I chose Black Tulip, but this will not be last purchase with this brand. From traditional perfumes to diffusers and scented candles you will find it at NEST and they even have a subscription box. Though new a bottle of perfume and candles every month? That may be a bit much for some. But for those with large homes it makes sense. So if that’s you, the subscription box is a pretty good deal. I say go for it, I won’t judge.

The packaging alone is very eye catching and from your description the fragrance sounds gorgeous! I will need to browse this line the next time I’m at Birchbox.
I love the name Black Tulip as a fragrance. And I agree with you — pretty packaging always catches my eye, but the scent is what keeps me. Glad you like this one!
Oh nice, I like the bottle, so uncommon and pretty looking.

I feel the same as you when it comes to look for the perfect fragrance, there are many details to consider but in this case the packaging just caught my eye, maybe because I am a graphic designer but this is definitely a very good start. It seems like the perfect option for summer days!
Now that is an eye catching packaging that will surely draw one in. I’m not keen on perfumes, but wouldn’t mind trying this.

I can totally relate to your point about looking for fragrances that are free of that overly ‘perfumes’ smell; some perfumes can exude too much sugary sweet femininity and so finding ones that reject that can be so refreshing – and exciting! 🙂

I need to smell some NEST fragrances! I’m not sure if you even get them in the UK though 🙁 xx

This is the first time I’m hearing about this perfume, Allie. I love the bottle, and from you wrote, the smell sounds like a winner too. Thanks for the heads up.
The packaging of these perfumes worth alone to buy them!
More, the fragrance sounds amazing, too! 🙂

Thanks for the interesting post! Have a nice weekend)
I’m picky when it comes to scents on the products that I use too, and this one looks really interesting. I’d love to try this. Thanks for sharing dear.

I also like this line of fragrances. I’m wondering if it’s the same company as the maker of a body wash that I have my beach house. Everyone loves that body wash. I agree with you about perfume. It is hard to find the right mix of floral that isn’t too sweet.
