This past weekend was a glorious one in New York and a perfect day for strolling about in a sea side town. My friend Laurie and I did just that and had wonderful day strolling, shopping, and brunching in Sayville, New York on Long Island. We stopped in to antique stores, a retro boutique, gift shops and had lunch at an organic cafe called Tula. We ended the day at Gainer State Park, a naturalist park with open fields, wooded areas, shore line beaches and a pond. We sat on a park bench and watched red winged black birds fly in and out of the reeds as the sun set and dusk descended. And with the cover of darkness a couple of brave bunnies hopped out of the woods to nibble on shoots growing along the pathway. So cute!
The temperatures varied a bit so I grabbed my Ann Taylor spring coat, with it’s wide stripes and fun chevron pattern it is such a fun way to add interest to a basic look. The ruffled top I picked up at H&M a few weeks ago when I went shopping with my step family who was in town visiting from Paris. I feel in love with this top. A nice take on a white tee with jeans, it is a great go to for the in-between weather of spring. I paired it with these girl friend jeans from Gap.
With my small, but long angular face finding a pair of sun glasses that do not make me look like a bug can be a challenge
This the second pair of jeans that I purchased with a raw edge but it won’t be my last. And how fun are these lace up ballet flats from ALDO? Love them! I got these last fall on sale and so glad I did, I have received many compliments on them and have caught more the one young woman eyeing them on me.
As my regular readers know I am on mission to add more jewelry to my repertoire, so Friday when I spied this necklace in COS, it was a no brainer that I had to get it. It is $25.00 so certainly affordable and looks more expensive then it is, love it!
And of course many of you have seen this Vince Camuto bag on the blog before. I bought this shopper last spring at Macy’s and as you may have guessed, yup it was on sale. And finally the sunnies are from Loft. This size and shape seems to be the best for my face. With my small, but long angular face finding a pair of sun glasses that do not make me look like a bug can be a challenge. But bug drama aside, I am so excited spring is finally here, and I am looking forward to a sun filled summer with lots more photos shoots!

Love everything about your outfit! Those denim pants are so well fitted and paired with the white ruffled top they look even better. Styled the entire look to perfection by adding the beautiful printed coat and those lace up flats. Wishing you a fantastic day! xx
