Why I’m M.I.A & A New Start For 2022

By Posted on 36 Comments 1 min read 501 views

We all know the last two years have been rough. And I am sure we are glad that 2021 is over. In addition to world events I lost my mom in 2020, nothing can really prepare you for that. It is a slow climb out of mourning but there is light at the end of tunnel. Life can be difficult we all know that, but it is true that time heals all wounds, or least lessens them. Currently I am in the process of selling my mom’s house, and as you can imagine this is no easy task.

I don’t even think I will make Fashion Week this season, I just have too much going on with selling the house and moving.

I also signed a lease on a new apartment which is great, but they do not allow pets, so in addition to losing my mom I have to find homes for her two cats. I was going to keep them but now I cannot, then my sister said she would take them, but now she says she can’t, so that is another sad element I am struggling with. Clearing out a house someone has lived in for over fifty years is no joke, and doing this with a full-time job eats up all of my time and leaves me exhausted. I don’t even think I will make Fashion Week this season, I just have too much going on with selling the house and moving. I will be glad when all of this is behind me, but this is why I have been M.I.A and I am not on the blog all that much. But I will be back soon! Wish me luck and I will see you all on the other side!

I can not immagine what you are going through… The fact that you have to sell the hause is a difficult moment, a second loss because is the place where you knew your mother was safe. I am sure that you will get through it and you will become stronger because you did what a good doughter does, you honoured your mum in every moment.
I am sad for her cats but I am sure that they will make happy other persons too.
Hope 2022 will give you so many beaufitul things and will repay all your sacrifices. Hugs!

I wish you luck. Selling the home is always a lot of work….and moving is always stressful. On top of a full time job, it’s no wonder you have no time left. I hope you will find a nice home for her cats, there are people out there who are very open to adopting adults cats. All the best to you in 2022.

Allie, as the others have said, take all the time you need. What you are going through takes such a tremendous amount of strength, not only physically but mentally. (((BIG HUGS))) I am truly sorry to hear that not only are you doing the selling and cleaning up, but the fact that you have to lose her cats too…I’m sure they will go to a great home though, and all will turn out well. “This too shall pass.”

Sending you hugs and prayers, Allie! I can only imagine how difficult this must be for you, and so time consuming. I will be saying a special prayer for your mom’s cats. As an animal lover (and momma to two rescue cats), my heart breaks just with the thought of that. I will be praying they get a very special, loving home, just as I’m sure your momma provided them with.

Can’t wait to see you back again, but please take time for you during this difficult season and I have no doubt, things will become brighter for you!

You have my extremely heartfelt sympathy and condolences for all you have had to deal with and have been going through.
I knew things were rough for you and your sister both financially and emotionally after your mum passed away,
but I did not realise at the time the magnitude of it all.
I am a sentimental person and lost both my own adoptive mother and later my natural mother many years ago,
but did nor have to let go of as much as you have. I have felt quite sad just trying to think what to say.
You have soldiered through it amazingly.
I was just watching your video titled NYFW SS 2022 Vlog | ALLIE NYC – YouTube again.
Best wishes for much better times, health, success and much happier times in Year 2022 and in all the years thereafter,
    xx <3

I totally get it- you’ve got a ton on your plate. Moving is stressful, selling a house (especially one that belonged to your mom! For 50 years!) is super stressful. Sending you good vibes, babe!

Sending all the hugs your way with all you have going on. Grief is so unpredictable, and adding in a big move and saying goodbye to pets who are our family makes it even harder. Hopefully you can get to one of the Fashion Week events which will help you escape for a bit <3
