NYFW In The New Normal SS2021
I did attend NYFW this season. It was of course very different. Much of it was digital but I did attend a few events and the Flying Solo Fitting day, the Flying Solo shows and the Street Fashion Week shows. I also did some street style shooting. Things were noticeably much quieter and the city was not its usual self that is for sure. But Fashion Week persevered and I was able to have a little normalcy in my life. I met up with a few of my fellow photogs and it was great to see them and do what we love. I hope enjoy. This video is a bit on the long side so watch when you have time. But it is all there BTS, the runways and of course street style.

I’m so sad to see NYC not it’s usual bustling self especially for Fashion Week! Still see lots of gorgeous inspiration, and loving your floral mask <3

but thank you for sharing this video, really great to see you still embracing the fashion week despite of it all
How wild. I didn’t make it to the city this year but I can only imagine the difference. At least the actual fashion is alive and well…

Thanks for sharing this!
These are really strange times, and I’m not sure I am a fan of this new “normal”.
But, it was really great to see the Flying Solo rooftop show, and I loved the black cutout dress!

Amazing video, love your looks (that quilted jacket and sunglasses from the last outfit are so gorgeous) and the Flying Solo show was absolutely amazing – such a beautiful designs!
I am all about the face masks and I love the embroidery on your face mask. So pretty. Having the runway shows on the rooftop this year was awesome. The natural pigment colors on the Scilla bags looks so vibrant. Speaking of bags, you got me curious about the knockoff bags too. You should definitely do a comparison.

Hello Allie, hope you’re doing good!
I was eager to hear your experience at NY Fashion Week, since you’re one of the bloggers that do a great coverage of the event!
To be honest I didn’t hear a lot from Fashion Week editions this time, I imagine the situation changed the game and many designers decided to go digital. But you did a great job covering the runways and some of the events (I also saw many of your Instagram stories and congrats for supporting the independent projects too!). Of course this is strange and horrible but I like to see that many brands are projects are finding new way to tell their stories, I also liked to see the runway at the rooftop with NY in the background… that’s really cool!
Ooh and the Scilla products looks really great!
Excited to hear more stories from this new approach to fashion !
Best!
Thank you so much, so glad you enjoyed my coverage! It was pretty different from usual. Last night I was watching this person I like on YT who films the exits of shows in Paris, and I was noticing how crowded it was and some of the shows from previous seasons I noticed people I took photos of in the same outfits so I was there lol. I feel I am going to see myself on one of them. But it pained to see it, and how different it all is and how I will not be traveling to Paris. I can not wait for the day we go back to normal…
I’m glad you documented it. I’m so happy for some normalcy however it comes.
Very interesting!

Oh wow, I didn’t think about how different NYFW would be this year–I’ve never been and doubt I’ll ever make it, but that’s great that they’re making it work this year in the way that they can!
I’m thankful we could at least enjoy the Fashion week online. Such influential looks! I’m glad you could attend few events.

This is so cool to follow you in your fashion week adventure. It was really fun to see you interact with the fashion designers.
And this fashion shown the rooftop is stunning. I’ve been really into duo toned suit lately. The looks with the ducks and flowers are also so fun !
It’s sure is really different this year.
And I’m loving your embroidered mask.
This is crazy to think about all the clothes and accessories which are getting burned. It also makes me feel really sad by just thinking about it.
But yes Let’s keep saying the world positively 🙂

I am sure moving forward most all events that usually have crowds will have to be like this and follow CDC guidelines. At least you were able to experience a bit albeit mostly digitally. <3

Totally loved your embroidered mask. Your red jacket was quite nice too. The third event that you attended was just my thing. So glad that you still got to participate in NYFW events, despite it all. Have a fabulous day.
Nice to see that NYFW is still live and well! It’s awesome that you were still able to attend events and see some shows! I love seeing all the inspiration from the shows and streets!

Great vlog! It does seem quieter and more low key than normal. love seeing the bit of runway and your mask it really pretty by the way!
Looks like its going to take some time for the world to get back to normal. Take care and stay safe.
The city seems still so quiet and it is totally different Fall Season for this year.
The street styles are fascinating, and the accessories for the glasses are very cute.
Love your red embroidery jacket!
Very different also in Milan… it’s so sad! But fashion is still alive!!!
Beautiful video recap!

It’s so wonderful to see the tenacity of everyone involved in these shows, Allie, and how everyone adapted to the new norm:) I love all your outfits, esp. that yellow one, and OMG! I want everything from that Street Fashion show (where you were wearing your yellow dress)! And LOL…love that girl with the helmet close to the end.
That is good you were able to have some semblance of reality with NYFW, even though most was digital.
Seeing how NYFW is different this year is so interesting. Love that you were able to still go out and be safe with watching the show. Your yellow ensemble is so cute!! It is great to see how attendees rocked their outfits. The beauty of NYFW is that you can express your own style however you want!
