I have certainly had a spring in my step as of late. The weather has been wonderful here in New York and it is the perfect excuse to not only shop, but to get out more. And last Sunday I did exactly that, I had the great pleasure of attending the first NYC Style Collective event—a lovely brunch on a NYC rooftop. The weather totally cooperated for our event with temperatures in the high seventies, with low humidity, a light wind and plenty of sunshine. We had quite the turn out with twenty eight NYC based bloggers in attendance. There were snacks and beverages provided by Nature Box and Grady’s Cold Brew and give aways sponsored by Wool and the Gang and Ecohabitude. But the best part was the opportunity to mingle and meet fellow bloggers, plus the gorgeous views as we sipped champagne and mimosas didn’t hurt either. Seriously it sucks being a blogger in NY right? Wink wink. Any NYC based bloggers if you would like to join the collective give me shout out. And until next time stay fashion fabulous ladies (and gents).

Josephina of Josephina Collection. I included this photo even though it is out of focus as a lesson. This would have been a great photo of Josephina if it was in focus. About month ago I was experimenting with back button focus. Back button focus is helpful when you are shooting a subject that like a child or a pet that moves quickly and may move closer to or farther from the camera. Back button focus will change the focus for you automatically, but it is a different way of focusing. I tried a few test shots when I first changed the settings, but had since forgotten I had done this. I didn’t remember until about half way through the event, I reset the focus once I figured this out, but lost half the day. So note to self and keep in mind girls: 1) Remember when you make major adjustments to your camera. 2) Practice with said new setting before you go out to shoot an event.
One of our sponsors Nature Box and their tasty healthy treats!
Here I am wearing a Clover Canyon bomber jacket, white layered top from COS, raw edged flood jeans from H&M (they run super small and I had to go up two sizes), black suede kitten pumps from Michael Kors and this lovely cross body bag from Valentino (psssst this is Josephina’s) Everything is so gorge right?

What an awesome event you all look very stylish and trendy.
How wonderful! Blogger groups and meetups are superb ways to encourage us. I went to one in Vancouver last year. And it’s a real treat to see a picture of you — your outfit is very cute!
This weather is just perfect for rooftop brunches! Looks like a fanatsic venet! Totally love your jeans.
What an amazing collection of photos and a great write-up! Love the lens flare on a lot of these- we got so lucky to have such a wonderful day for the event! I loved seeing you and meeting Josephina. Best part was connecting with all the lovely ladies and walking away with so many yummy goodies!

I saw Natalyia posting about this event on her blog and it looked like such a successful and fun event! I wish I live nearby but then again, I’m also not a fashion blogger.

I love the lens flare in your photos! That clover canyon bomber looks way cool. I always have problems with h&m’s sizing. They’re either way too big or way too small 🙁 Sounds like the even was a ton of fun! I’m not an NYC blogger since I’m across the river in New Jersey but I’m gonna head on over to the site anyway 😉
