You would have to be living under a rock if you were unaware of the statement bag trend, and in particular the statement crossbody bag is having a moment. It seems every self respecting influencer has been spotted sporting this eye catching trend. And one can hardly blame them, it’s fun, who doesn’t want to own a unique, look at me piece? We all do right? But as most of us also know they are not cheap. With the tiniest of Gucci crossbody bags going for $1200, and with the Dior crossbody saddle bag and Chanel‘s crossbodies going for thousands of dollars, it can be daunting to say the least. Hey if your budget allows you to splurge on these luxurious to die for bags I say go for it! No shame.
With on trend varieties such as the logo emblazoned strap, to neon, camouflage and metallics which ever strap you choose you will certainly make a statement
But if you can’t afford to pluck down that kind of money, or you don’t want to spend your entire tax return on a bag, do you have options? I didn’t use to think so.But my mind was quickly changed when I went Christmas shopping this past December and discovered the Marc Jacobs Snapshot Collection. I was shopping in Lord & Taylor when I spied these bags and I was smitten at first sight. There are a plethora of colors to choose from. From neons, to pastels, and neutrals to deep jewel tones all with contrasting panels. But the highlight of the snapshot bag is hands down the straps. With on trend varieties such as the logo emblazoned strap, to stars, camouflage, metallics, and even the playboy bunny—which ever strap you choose you will certainly make a statement.
The bags retail for $295 and while not super cheap, they are an affordable option. I did not pick up one that day as I was Christmas shopping and not shopping for myself. However I do have a birthday coming up this month and this is going to be the bag I gift myself. You can also pick them up at Neiman Marcus Bloomingdales and FarFetch.
