A Loft Dress and a day in the Hamptons

It’s summer, I live in NY, the sun is shinning so where to go? Why the Hampton’s of course. If there is one thing you can say about Long Island—after California and Florida it has the best beaches in the US. And I am lucky enough to live within driving distance of this much sought after get away destination.

This past Saturday a friend and I set out for the Hamptons with our goal being to make it to south Hampton but unfortunately we only made as far as West Hampton due to the over whelming traffic, it was bumper to bumper traffic for miles upon miles. We finally bailed and settled for West Hampton. But all was not lost, we found a semi-private beach that was refreshingly not crowded. With it’s wide sandy beaches and ocean views it was the perfect place to catch some rays and relax. After hectic busy week working in NYC a day like this is exactly what the doctor ordered.

They predicted rain for Saturday but there was not a rain drop in sight and it turned out to be a beautiful day. With our original plan to head to  South Hampton or Sag Harbor to shop in town rerouted because of traffic jams, and with the blazing sun overhead we ended up at the beach. I was not wearing a bathing suit as I had not expected to be at the beach, instead I chose to wear this floral maxi dress I picked up at The Loft a few weeks ago. This Loft dress was originally $79.99 and had been marked down to $69.99 and then they were having a 50% off the lowest price sale (and it is still going on) so I ended up paying $35.00 for this versatile frock.

With an impromptu photo shoot on the beach I didn’t have time to worry about my dress

I have worn it to the office, out for drinks with friends and now—to the beach. What I love best about this dress besides the fun floral pattern and how comfortable it is, is that it does not wrinkle. I was literally rolling around in the sand and there was not a wrinkle to be had. With an impromptu photo shoot on the beach I didn’t have time to worry about my dress. As I struggled to find my inner sex kitten getting sand in my hair, and pretty much any other place you could think of, this dress soldiered on and remained as fresh looking as did when I first put it on that morning. Seriously how cool is it to not have to worry about rumpled wrinkled clothes? Cool right?
