Heading to presentations on my lunch break? Check. Such is the life of a full-time fashionista blogger with a full time job in publishing, but hey, a girls got to do what a girls got to do. On this day which was a beautiful sunny crisp fall day I headed to The Supermarket in lower Manhattan for Kuho’s presentation for SS 2017. Kuho is a Korean based label and this was their first show here in the US.
Creating feminine and uncomplicated clothes the Kuho aesthetic embraces a more unfettered approach to the female form. With it’s minimalist lines, lack of embellishment and relaxed fits the garments in this line up are the quintessential urban statement of effortless yet thoughtful attire. Interest is created via fluid silhouettes, striking prints, sudden bursts of color and custom developed fabrics; like a water resistant wool and a cotton/nylon blend. And the fabrics are as much of the story in this collection as are the designs. Having the chance to see the fabrics in person I can attest to the luxurious yet clean statement that they create.
A refreshing and elegant expression of twenty first century woman
From sleeveless shift frocks , to A-line knit dresses, to cinched waist parachute coats and peplum caped tops, and billowing wide leg trousers the looks in this line up revel an independent, free-spirited take on the concept of femininity. A refreshing and elegant expression of twenty first century woman.
