Kendall Jenner Fashion Model

kendalljenner-kyliejenner-stevemadden

As any self respecting fashionista knows, Kendall Jenner is an inspiring model and had her debut when she walked for Marc Jacobs during New York Fashion Week. And of course, which should be no surprise to anyone, it had it’s controversies. Kendall wore a sheer, read, see through v-neck top which left little to the imagination. She was also unrecognizable in a pastel colored blunt cut bob and bleached eye brows. I personally thought she looked great and I think she is going to be a wonderful model. I was not bothered or offended by the “topless top”,  she is an 18 year old adult and walking in a fashion show for adults. However, some may criticize this choice because Kendall, along with her sister Kylie, design clothes marketed to teen girls and feel that in some way Kendall may not be a proper role model. You can see Kendall and “the top” at the Marc Jacob website which is posted as is. I personally do not find it exploitive or demeaning so I am not particularly bothered by Kendall’s choice, which again she made as an 18 year old adult.  But what do you think? Do you think because younger children look up to her she should have worn a different shirt? Or do you think that making a big deal about this choice is sending an even worse message to young girls? And on that note, Kendall and Kylie Jenner recently announced that they are launching a new line of shoes and handbags with Madden Girl. You can read more about that here. Well however way you feel, suffice is to say the Jenner girls much like the Kardashian girls are going to be fixtures in the fashion industry for quite some time.

  1. I think she could have worn like the breast pasties. But hey she is an adult.

  2. I’m not bothered by her choice as you said she is an adult and models wear outfits like these all the time. I always think it’s so weird when people say a particular celeb is a role model, please how is someone you don’t even know suppose to be a role model for your child? Role models are parents, teachers, older siblings and so on… these are the people that a child interacts with the most and can actually make an impact on. Honestly growing up I don’t remember using any celeb as my role model, if a celeb is a role model for a child, these parents clearly need to be more present in their child’s life.

  5. Kendall is really making a name for her self in the modeling world and not just because she’s a Kardashian.

  7. I agree, if it was any other model it wouldn’t have mattered and nearly all of them have done it!

  8. I think making a bigger deal about it sends a worse message such as if you want to be all over social networks and the internet, wear revealing clothing. But Kendall Jenner does not give that impression as a whole, not on the hit tv show The Kardashians and definitely not on her instagram page. However, walking for Marc Jacobs was strictly business and it was definitely too big of an opportunity to turn down so she did what she had to do to progress in the Fashion industry, which unfortunately came at an expense. But, like you said, I do not knock her for it in any way; it is strictly fashion and business.

  9. This does not bother me. I mean, she’s a model and at some point in time every model has done it. She isn’t on a mission to save the world so she’s owning that.

  10. I didn’t find the Marc Jacobs runway moment exploitive or demeaning. I don’t care much for reality tv people but at least Kendall is way less annoying than her Kardashian sisters.

  11. Fashion is an art, and as so, the human body is part of it. If I thought that was offensive then so is going to the museums and seeing some of the nude art there. Marc Jacobs’ collection was amazing!

  12. Well, there are so many new faces in fashion industry every year, and some stay, some out,i really love this girl, and i think she deserved to stay

It is Royal ,have a nice day

  13. I thought she looked killer. The bleached brows and bob were so stylistically artsy and it “her” out of the equation, making her “just a model.” Perfect!

  14. I’m not bothered by her or what she wore–there have been plenty of boobies on plenty of runways before. She also just did the Givenchy show, so she’s really making a name for herself as a true fashion model. That said, though, I am a little burnt out on the whole Kardashian/Jenner crew; the media has done a fine job of overexposing them.

  15. i hadn’t heard anything about this but it sounds like a great stint for her PR and also for marc jacobs – i’m going to go look up the pictures now:)

  16. Love them! They are seriously gorgeous! 🙂

  17. I think everyone has the right to personal choice. The girls can wear what they like as long as they are not naked.

  18. She is absolutely an adult now and her decisions should not be judged as those of a child. She is making her mark in the Fashion industry and she truly may have taken pause before making this decision.

  19. i didn’t know that they were doing a madden girl collab, that’s interesting

  20. With the Kardashians anything goes! She’s trying to cover all markets. The teen scene. The adult scene. It’s all about money.

  21. she’s 18. her choices don’t bother me. i don’t think younger kids are watching fashion shows. teens, possibly, but not kids.

  22. To me, I think it’s perfectly fine. In my opinion, it shouldn’t even be a controversial at all. A model’s job is to carry or parade the clothes that they are put on. Isn’t that the job of a model anyway? She’s 18 and she’s officially an adult to decide what profession she wants to be in.

  23. Lots of other models wear similarly revealing outfits on the runway – it’s unfair to single out Kendall just because she’s a household name. I think it’s doubtful that girls who look up to her will be inspired to wear see-through tops because of this.
