HD in Paris, a Quilted Yellow Skirt and a Sale at Anthropologie — My Best Deal of the Year

W hen was the last time you bought a skirt for $8.00? Can you remember? Well for me it was two weeks ago during a sale at Anthropologie. They were having a 20% off the lowest price sale and this skirt was marked down from $128 to $70.00 to $9.95. With the additional 20% off, that’s right, you heard it correctly, this skirt was a whopping $8.00. It’s gorgeous isn’t it? I receive so many compliments when I wear it, three people I work with stopped me to tell me they liked my skirt and a women on the elevator even stopped me to ask me where I purchased it. So yes I would venture to say this is probably the best deal I am going to find this year. The only caveat is of course it was too big. It was the smallest size they had but it was too big and sort of hung on my hips. I actually couldn’t use much of the film my friend and I shot because the seam of the skirt was in the wrong place because it moved. I took these snaps with a friend of mine before we headed to a local tapas place, and on the way to dinner she lamented to me that she had the same problem with skirts, and that they move around and don’t stay in place. She asked me as a blogger what my advice would be, and my answer to her was—find a good tailor. I take all of my skirts to the tailor, (and should have done this before I took these photos) with the exception of skirts with elastic waist bands. Buying clothes off the rack is tricky and skirts in particular can be be difficult. I find when I have skirts tailored they make wearing skirts so much more enjoyable because I no longer have to fight with them to keep them in place. At one point I even stopped wearing them because of this issue. But once I discovered the benefits of a good tailor I never looked back. So if you have this problem with skirts, don’t toss them, take them to a tailor. It will be money well spent. This beauty is from an exclusive line at Anthropologie called HD in Paris and I really did a get good deal. This is quality lined skirt, and I love the color and the quilted fabric and bouncy peplum. It is a fun way to add a pop of color to my look and it is a nice change to wearing so much black and grey.
