I remember as a kid when my grandmother watched her soap operas that it seemed everyone on the show owned a bar cart. They were always getting all riled up and storming over to the bar carts, quickly dashing in a jigger or two of booze and downing it, eyes blazing as they gripped the empty glass. And I remember thinking “we don’t have one of those” alas the bar cart trend did not carry over in to the eighties and kind of died out, but now it seems it is quite the popular item again. Blame it on Mad Men or perhaps the uptick in dinner parties but it seems they are everywhere and they certainly are a fun way to display your fancy glasses and high end liquor, especially if you do not have the room for a cabinet devoted to your party essentials. So in honor of the end of Mad Men I rounded up a number of inspiring examples of this Don Draper must have. From tarnished gold, to sparking gold to white and even navy I am sure there is one that will strike your fancy. Do you have a bar cart in your home? And if you do what kind of bar cart do you have? And if you don’t would you consider getting one? What kind would you get? Would it be more feminine or more rugged? Gold, white, black? Metal or wood? And OK a chalk board wall and a gold bar cart, how chic is that!

Bar carts feel like a really grown-up item and some of them look really stylish. I will probably not be getting one since neither my husband or I drink but then it could be used for other things 🙂

I have been seeing so many of these popping up on lifestyle blogs! It gives such a lovely touch to the home and I wish we can have one at our place. My MIL has a very old wooden one, I think it’s from her mum or grandma so it’s really old but still in a great condition and she display her fine china on it. My little one reached up and tried to grab her china and the thing almost topple over. Needless to say, the idea of having this cart in our home went out the window. LOL!
