L ast week was a rough week, we are working a huge project at work and it seems everything that could go wrong did, so we are currently a week behind. And in NY we endured yet another snow storm—the snow is so high outside my house that it comes up to my waist in some spots. It was a balmy 22 degrees on Friday and I was astounded to find out this weekend is Daylight Savings, because it seems spring could not be any further away. Well spring many still be a good month or two away but I am in the mindset for a bit of spring right now. So I pulled out this unworn tee and dreamed of wearing it with a pair of cropped jeans and some nude pumps. I picked up this tee from Puella last fall when it was on sale at Anthropologie . It retailed for $59.99 but I paid $19.99 and I can’t wait for it to get warm enough to wear. The pumps were also on sale and I paid the same price for these too—$19.99. I picked them up last spring at Payless and wore them to a number of job interviews. I even wore them when I interviewed at the job I am currently working at, so I guess I could consider these my good luck shoes. And although I love my job, last week was a tough one, so when Friday rolled around I was ready for a much needed drink. I met up with fellow blogger Renata of Purse Fixation. We headed to Boqueria a Tapas restaurant on Spring street and the perfect spot on cold night. With it’s rustic interior, exposed kitchen, high ceilings, warm lighting and delicious aromas we could forget, if only for a short while, the arctic weather just outside the beveled glass doors. We shared a combination anti-pasta cheese plate and few glasses of wine while chatting about the weather, current events, our blogs and of course fashion. We even decided to make this a monthly ritual. I just love the fact that I can make new friends through my blog. How cool is that?
As I headed home on the snowy streets of NY, Â the cover of this magazine caught my eye as it “winked” at me from the newsstand, I picked it up, contemplated buying it, looked at the $9.95 price tag, put it down, started to walk away, then thought I could excuse the purchase as research for my job, walked back and purchased it. And I am so glad I did. It is a beautiful magazine with stunning photography, a crisp sophisticated design aesthetic and interesting articles, like the one I read on the train ride home about artist and film maker Sam Taylor-Johnson, whose name you may not know but you will soon as she is the director behind the much anticipated 50 Shades of Grey. If the $9.95 price tag seems a little steep, consider a subscription; it is $25.00 for 6 issues and being that this is such robust, quality magazine it will certainly be money well spent. It is interesting to note, that this magazine is not put out by a publisher, but by a retailer: Net-A-Porter. That is some pretty smart marketing if you ask me. If you want to learn more about this magazine and how to subscribe head to www.portersubscription.net-a-porter.com/ren2, plus you get a free $54.00 face serum from Ren. Wow,now that is a free gift with purchase I can actually use. Sign me up!

That is a pretty fab GWP! I’ve only been to the Boqueria in Chelsea. Their tapas are pretty amazing.
I really feel for you and your beautiful N.Y getting hit by yet another snow storm. Lets hope Spring will come around soon. Love that T-shirt! Also great to read how you managed to actually, physically meet up with your blogger friend. Good to hear not everything happens in cyper space :-). Hope this week will bring you finished projects and plenty of sunshine!
What a great deal on such a versatile tee! It’s finally looking like spring here in North Carolina but I truly hope NY is not far behind. There’s only so much winter people can take!

I have to salute you as the Queen of Bargains, you seems to snatch up the best deals! I have seen the snow in some part of US, my husband’s colleague in Dallas sent a picture of how much snow they are getting this year, it’s crazy.
This weekend was warm in this part of BC, Canada. The temperature went up to 14 Celsius and it was just a gorgeous day. I can’t imagine if I am living in places that is still snowing until now, I probably be miserable. LOL!

I love stripes and nude heels. The proof for it is on my last post 😉
Today we have such a beautiful sunny day. I hope your winter comes to an end soon too.
I absolutely agree, very clever of Net-a-Porter to bring out their own magazines.

Looks like a subscription is the way to go. Buying individual copies would start to add up after a couple purchases.

Oh my Allie, this is a pair of really beautiful nude pumps, I have been wanting to get a nude on like this myself and what a bargain you got it for. I love the height of the heels, it’s not too high and I believe it’s more comfy to walk in, right?
Well, sure is your lucky pair of heels!! haha
Am sorry to hear that NYC weather is still pretty bad with the snow storm and all, I guess I will not fully understand the hassle it brings to you till I actually stay in a place like that… But I wish the snow will go away real soon and you and other blogger friends there can enjoy a good dose of sunshine spring!
Yes, I absolutely love PORTER magazines and I feel they are really well done, in terms of content as well as their covers. They have been very consistent so far since rolled out. We have the magazine here as well but I don’t usually get them (overseas title magazines) as they cost quite a bomb (MYR25 – MYR30)! I do browse them occasionally at the bookstore. That’s how I get my fix on fashion mags, haha *_^
Lovely blog post, as always! And I enjoy reading these sort of posts from you. It is always nice to be able to connect with fellow bloggers through the blogosphere and actually better when you get to hang out with the blogger in person! I just did with another blogger friend of mine here two days ago over brunch. The feeling is always very uplifting, if you find the mutuals ones whom you can click with *_^
Hope you are having a beautiful time so far! I will be featuring a blog post soon, with one of your beautiful pics. Will definitely have a credit mention to it!
Stay warm and hope your work does not stress you out that much! (I know it’s a wishful thinking but just like our other blogger friend, Arely said: Life is short, choose happiness!).
Big hugs,
Jeann
Such nice pictures!
