Last week I wrote about the blush trend, which goes hand in hand with the strobing trend. Blame it on the Kardashians or the rise of the smart phone, social media and the love-hate relationship we all have with selfies, but we all want to look our glowing best. And being the lover of makeup that I am I am always looking to try something new. So when I ran out of the highlighting primer I had been using I popped in to Sephora to have a look see. And after fighting the crowds which is pretty always the case at the 34th street store. I found myself in front of the Becca display and immediately, there were two bottles that caught my eye.
The first was a lavender colored fluid in a frosted bottle and the second was more of a light flesh toned fluid also in a frosted bottle. Hmm, the first which is called First Light Priming Filter Instant Complexion Refresh is supposed to give you a more refreshed awake look, and says it instantly fixes fatigue, dullness, dehydration, puffiness and fine lines. Well fatigue, dehydration and puffiness may require more sleep and fluids and less salt and late night cocktails. But I bet this makes you look like you don’t suffer from any of these aliments. And that kind of works for me. But I ended up purchasing the Backlight Priming Filter instead.
I like that it is a radiant primer that is not too white. This way I can use a lighter toned illuminator and add spot illuminating where I choose
Becca’s Backlight Priming Filter says it blurs imperfections and imparts a radiant glow. And it does just that. I like that it is a radiant primer that is not too white. This way I can use a lighter toned illuminator and add spot illuminating where I choose. They recommend using it with their Under Eye Brightening Corrector. I did not purchase this but I may go back and get this when I am done with the concealer I am currently using, or when summer rolls around and I switch up my routine.
And finally, I was gifted Clinic’s Chubby Stick Sculpting Highlight Illuminateur Visage. I love this! It is the perfect size to carry around in your bag and it is super light. I like that it is a stick as opposed to a fluid. I find sometimes that using a liquid highlighter after applying all your makeup can interfere with what you have already applied. So this is a thumbs up for me.
Now it just needs to warm up and I will be more then ready for summer; give me a spray tan, an illuminating primer, a glistening blusher and a spot highlighter and I will be one glowingly gorgeous girl

I have a deluxe sample of the Becca Backlight Priming Filter which I haven’t tried yet. After reading your description, I totally need to break it out 🙂
It sounds lovely!! 🙂
I am dying to get my hands on the lavender primer! I have Becca Backlight Primer Filter and love it but sometimes it can be a touch too much for me when I want a more toned down look. Many have said the lavender one is better so I really want to get my hands on it!
I have good days and off days with radiant type primers. I use NARS at the moment and it’s really lovely, but at times I feel like it makes me look a little too shiny (which is obviously the intended effect hahaha). I think it would be amazing during cooler months though.

This Becca priming seems to be great and I am eager to try it! I think that we can use it with another concealer, so finish yours and then buy the other if you want 🙂 I totally agree with you about the Cllinique stick. I prefer such a highlighter than a fluid one – it does mess up what we put on our faces before! Hope you have a great day!

I need an under eye concealer stick. The concealer I currently uses creases with the fine lines under my eyes =P I probably need to hydrate more so they fill up a bit lol
