So finally you all get to see my Zara quilted moto jacket that I have been going on about in your comments and have mentioned in previous posts. A few weeks ago I was feeling rather down due to on going and very expensive teeth problems. I decided to walk home from work as I was not in the mood to deal with the subway and I wanted to pop in to Zara. I was looking for a blouse to wear to Lucky FABB and I tried on a number of them, but they were all see through. I have to say I am quite over the see through blouse trend. It is just too impractial, so I hope designers and retailers wise up and stop making day wear that looks like lingerie. In addition to feeling down, I was now feeling exasperated. I was just about to walk out of the store when this jacket caught me eye. I tried it on and it was love at first try. I really couldn’t afford it but I bought it any way. It really did lift my spirits and I wore it to Lucky FABB, so I considered that worth the investment. I also used my Dooney & Bourke bag that I purchased last spring at the conference. It is a pretty big bag and I always look for big bags — living in New York you are either waking or on mass transit so a big bag is a must. No car to throw all your stuff into. My bag is no longer available but this shopper is and it is in the same lovely color. I didn’t wear these boots to the conference, but I wear them ALL the time. I love them. I bought them at Daffy’s about three years ago and I wish I had more boots like these. They are dressy, knee high boots with a chunky 2 inch heel. I do not know why, but it seems that knee high boots are either flat or have a super high heel. I like to have a bit of a heel as I feel it makes the boots look dressier. But I do not need to wear 4 or 5 inch heels. Being almost 5’ 8” I have no desire to be six feet tall. And again living in New York you are constantly walking and 4 or 5 inch heels are not intended for extended walking. Even these shoes by Zara are a bit higher then I would like, but they are so cute. Right? I am not sure why the quilted moto jacket is not on the Zara sight, I just purchased it three weeks ago. I am sure it is still available in stores so if you like it, pop in to your local Zara. So how do feel about the see through top trend? And how often do you wear heels that are higher then three inches?

November 19, 2013love the jacket. definitely a great buy. i love big bags too, but then developed a love for crossbody bags. my poor feet can’t handle heels anymore. it’s such an unfortunate thing. i don’t think i have worn heels in months! but i sure do miss it. not the pain though.

November 19, 2013I hate that shoes/boots are usually only high or flat and that the in-between pairs are often really ugly – but your’s are pretty, what an awesome find!
Love the jacket – I’m on the hunt for a warm jacket because it isn’t quite cold enough for a full coat yet

November 19, 2013That jacket is amazing and looks fabulous on you Allie! I don’t mind the see-through top trend as long as it’s styled right. I like to wear see-through tops with a blazer over and high-waisted pants.

November 20, 2013Allie, that jacket looks so good on you. I invested in a quilted jacket, but it’s not a leather one. LOVE yours doll! So sorry to hear about all of your dental work. A couple of years ago, my back tooth cracked! I had an exposed nerve and the pain was so bad I thought I was going to die. I had to go through several months of dental visits & surgeries. SO EXPENSIVE! So I feel ya. My see-through days are over. LOL I want them to stop making those too. I’m six feet, so I stay in ballet flats.

November 20, 2013I absolutely love this look! Your jacket is edgy but so wearable, and I love the layering you did!
