Silver Hair With Nataliya of Style Tomes and Quite The Unexpected Fashion Trend

Silver hair—there was a time when those words made woman shudder. Today it seems anything goes: from letting your gray hair grow in and wearing it with abandon like Carmen the world renowned model in her eighties who defies the agism of the beauty industry; to dying your hair every color of the rainbow and with big name celebrities like Kylie Jenner and Kelly Osborne sporting this unconventional trend you know it has hit the main stream. Rainbow colored hair a major fashion trend? My high school self would never have believed that. I was a goth and dyed my hair magenta which I loved, but boy did I have to deal with all sorts of grief—this was NOT by any stretch of the imagination a main stream fashion statement at the time.

But silver hair? Intentionally dying your hair gray, umm I mean silver? Sounds like a recipe for disaster right?  But in fact, it is quite the contrary. Silver hair has been a trend for a good year now and does not appear to be subsiding any time soon. You can check out this Pinterest page to see a variety of all shades of silver: from foxy blues, to vaguely violet hues to shades that almost appear to be metallic. However what you will not find is a look that would ever be described as gray. Or, at least not in the traditional sense of the word when referring to our crowning glories. But how does one if so inclined, pull off this look?

It is not the easiest of colors to create, but when done well, the results are spectacular. I wish I had lighter hair so I could try something like this. As it is my hair is heavily damaged from just your basic highlights. I do think that you really need to start with lighter hair to achieve this look. The darker your hair is the longer you have to have product sitting on it, and the longer that takes, the more damaged your hair is going to be. But if your hair is on the lighter side, or at least not dark brown or black (though there are plenty of dark haired beauties that do pull this off) I think trying out silver hair would be so chic and definitely fun.

Here Nataliya of Style Tomes had her silver hair created for her by the super talented team at Aveda. Cool right? Who would ever think that this two-toned colorless shade our mothers and grandmothers shunned would become a beauty craze? But in the topsy turvy world of fashion, never say never. Yes there are people out there that would probably never dye their hair silver, but for those of you that are a bit more adventurous you can head on over to Style Tomes to learn how Nataliya and her stylist Courtney created this runway worthy look. And I just may have to hit Courtney up for a signature look of my own!

Not only are they expensive, these kinds of
pdojects require a great degree of do-it-yourself (DIY) skill,
nott too mention time. Wooden and metl hangers had taken a larger market share in the past.

If done right, silver hair can be very stylish looking. I would agree with you that making this transition would probably take less of a toll if your hair is already on the lighter side.

You bring up some really good point in favor of this iconic shade. I never really have been a huge fan of it but some people can pull it off quite well.

I read her post on changing her hair to this shade and I LOVE it! I wish I have the guts to dye my hair to this colour but I have very dark brown hair, so dark that it’s almost black so I can’t imagine how the products would destroy my hair.

Nataliya looks great!! Haha, I’ve also recently dyed my hair silver, well it was light purple and kind of washed out to silver, but I’ve been scouring the internet for tips on maintaining the color. You’re so right, it’s really hard to do this with hair that’s not naturally light at first. My hair is naturally dark and we had to bleach it twice to achieve the look. It’s definitely a process. . .that everyone should be educated about before trying! But it’s so funny that you posted this now.

    Love the photos too!

I love this trend in hair. It is something I utterly adore. That said I’m not so sure I could go that route just yet, despite having one or two “natural” f***ers myself.

It looks so good on her. I totally agree that I think it works better on people with lighter hair color in general. With my hair being so dark, it would look terrible on me.

Anyway, silver hair can be pretty awesome if you’re adventurous enough to give it a try hehe, I’m personally not that bold, but I adore to see it on people ^^

But, it is obvious that this maintenance is temporary and home improvement by way of new easves is necessary.
A hardwood floor thrfoughout the living area and tile floor
in the kitchen, for example, naturally differentiate areas in thhe
home. When it is thought about, there are many reasons not to thro
away that free home improvement catalog that comes through thhe mail and
maybe thwre are more reasons then you thought for
purchasing one the next time you are out.

I think it’s a bit weird that I want silver hair. I know I’d panic at greys if I was older, but this silver trend just seems to be the perfect balance of suave and edgy!

Try using a bucket to bathe, or turn off the shower when you’re
soaping yourself, orr the faucet when you’re bbrushing your
teeth or washing dishes, etc. When you have the shoppung list ready instead
off running here and there from a shop too shop you can always complete your shopping from your home itself.
