Classic White Dressers An Easy Way to Do a Chic Interior

It has been a minute since I have done an interior design based post. I love room make overs and seeing spaces transformed and how creative people can be when reimagining their spaces. I recently went on a major cleaning spree and purge. I have been working on this for weeks and last week I was at it all week. With all the rain I thought I would take advantage and I went full steam ahead from morning til evening. Suffice is to say I was dually wiped out at the end of each day, but the sense of accomplishment more then made up for it.

What sparked my cleaning and reorganizing initiative was the acquirement of a new dresser. And by “new” I mean pre-loved. My regular readers know that I am on a mission to shop more sustainably. Most people think of clothes when it comes to shopping sustainably, but really we should be thinking of reducing waste, and our personal footprint, and this means rethinking all our shopping needs—and this includes furniture. I had been thinking of getting a new white dresser for some time now, but was always a bit too busy to put in the needed time to research what is out there. So a few weeks ago when I was out with a friend of mine and came across a lovely white, mid-to-small sized dresser I was over joyed. No research needed, there it was, just sitting there waiting for me!

It was exactly what I was looking for: the size, the color and the aesthetic. I would describe it as farmhouse chic—French country. It is white, has three drawers and features glass knobs and pretty victorian inspired details. It cost me a whopping $140. Seriously I could have paid that for mass produced particle board crap. And another great thing about buying second hand furniture is that you can support local companies as well. I purchased my white dresser from a lovely shop in North Port Long Island called The Nest. For my local readers, if you are ever planning a trip out east, consider North Port and be sure to pop in to The Nest. And stay tuned for the next vlog where you can get a glimpse of the dresser. I hope you find these examples inspiring…

Cleaning and purging is exhausting but also so rewarding at the same time after it’s all done. Your new dresser sounds fabulous and what better motivation to organize than when you acquire a new piece of statement storage. White dressers are seriously so chic.

So great you purchased a pre-loved white dresser. I wish there were more second hand furniture shops here, I’m not sure there are any now that think of it, and that’s a shame because I love old pieces. Like most things furniture used to be made better and lasted longer, so it makes perfect sense to shop it second hand.

A classic white dresser makes every space looks more chic. I love white furniture because it is a neutral choice and it can look great with different interiors: minimalist, modern, French chic…These are all great example of that.

I love how versatile a white dresser can be! Many congrats that you found such a fabulous one! I love getting furniture pre-loved (it’s been so helpful furnishing our place while living abroad!) . There’s nothing like a well made, wood piece that can last for generations.

These photos make me want to renovate or redecorate my living area. I LOVE any interior that is white. White counters, white kitchen, white dresser… you name it.

These are all so chic! That’s great that you were able to find the perfect dresser! I’ve also been tidying up and donating bags of toys, books and clothing. It’s exhausting but feels so good, doesn’t it?! 🙂 XXX

Gorgeous white dresser. I love a neutral room. My daughter wants white furniture and I’m trying to decide what to do. May look as some second hand furniture or maybe we can paint some of what she has.

Absolutely agree. My dressers have been white — usually white with the silver knobs. But I’m actually kinda feeling these white dressers with the gold handles. So chic.

I’d love something like this! We have so much space in our master bedroom I think adding a dresser like this would be so pretty. I find it tricky shopping second hand, I see some great things on facebook but I don’t have a big enough car to transport the things and the boys, haha! Their car seats take up so much room!

Hopefully we get around to decorating our bedroom soon – a new bed is first up, then we will think about bedside tables and maybe the rest of the room.

I hope that you are having a great week so far 🙂

A white dresser really makes a bedroom look clean, inviting and relaxing. These are all so beautiful. We have an antique furniture store nearby that is like a museum. The quality and details are amazing. The prices even more amazing! Everything is too fancy for us, probably having come from wealthy plantations at one time, but I love browsing.

These are beautiful spaces! I love interior décor and design too and have been loving white walls and white furniture lately; they exude so much luxury and chic vibes. I’m looking forward to seeing the Vlog of your new dresser.

This minimalistic dresser looks incredibly cute. I really love the idea of buying a pre-owner furniture, especially if it is this good.
    Thank you for the post!

Loving these fab pieces! I’m a huge fan of interior design and like you, I love to see how people decorate their personal space.
Never had a white dresser before, I usually stick to wooden ones with a beige finish but I’m tooootally inspired on how to add lil’ bits here and there to add some pizzazz! Xo

I love the white dresser look! I am always afraid of it getting dirty but if you are careful and take care of them, it can look good for a very long time. It’s great that you’re trying to work on being more sustainable. Even though the dresser is pre-loved, it still looks new! I love all of these options!
