I could have hid in Boston and lived at home for three years,” she says, “gone through my transition, taken voice lessons to make my voice more feminine, gotten gender reassignment surgery, and spent time to complete my transition before I made my debut in fashion or film, but I didn’t want to wait!
Unprecedented is a word we have been hearing quite a bit lately and for the most part it has been not been for all the best reasons. But in 2015 I can happily say that IMG models took the unprecedented step of signing it’s second but first with worldwide representation transgender model Hari Nef. And Hari a 24 year old graduate of Columbia University is not just another pretty face.
Hari has written for a number of publications such as Vice, Blackbook, and Dazed & Confused among others. She is also an accomplished actress appearing in indie theatre pieces and indie films but is best know for her role on Amazons’s Transparency as the vibrant Tante Gittel. Originally from Philadelphia Hari had come a long way and has walked for such fashion luminaries as Gucci, Eckhaus Latta and Hood by Air. She continues to model, act and stay true to her activism. Reaching out to her fans taking questions in Tumblr and commenting about her experience as she transitions in the public eye.
A true beauty for sure, it is no doubt we will be hearing from this gorgeous, brave and talented young woman for many years to come. To read an interview with Hari head to ComeTrend.com

Hari Nef is such an inspiration and a far better representative for the Trans community than the likes of Caitlyn Jenner.
