[row_fluid][one_half] [dropcap custom_class=”normal”]T[/dropcap]he platform wedge Birkenstock inspired sandal is all the rage right now, and working in Soho I can assure you this is the go to shoe for the summer. All the well heeled fashionista’s are sporting them and they are perfect if you are going to be doing a lot of walking. About a week and half ago I was in the COS store in Soho and I tried on a pair of black platform wedge sandals with roughly a 1.5 inch heel. They looked great and they were also quite comfortable. As I work in the neighborhood I thought to myself “let me think about it” —but I should have known better. Work got super busy and I was unable to take my lunch break for over a week. My co-worker kept telling me to go back, she insisted that if I was thinking about them that much then I needed to buy them. Well when I finally returned to the store about ten days later they were completely sold out. And I could’t even complain that my size was sold out because they were ALL sold out, there was not a pair to be had. They are also not on the website either. So yes, I am kicking myself now. Being the first week of July I am going to be hard pressed to find what I want in my size. When I returned to store they still had a few of these red, white and navy platforms which were also super comfortable. But in my size? Nope. Though last I checked they did have them in my size online.[/one_half][one_half] [/one_half][/row_fluid][row_fluid][one_half] [/one_half][one_half] [/one_half][/row_fluid]
[dropcap custom_class=”normal”][/dropcap]However the 3 inch heel height was not quite what I had in mind, though they are gorgeous and if they go on sale I just may get them. These super chic wedges donning the feet of the lovely blogger at Viva Luxury are from See by Chloe but they too are sold out. But I just love the combination of the platform bottom and the lace up sandal top. Anthropologie has quite a large selection of platforms sandals with a variety of heel heights and a rage of different price points. So does Nasty Gal, though they lean towards higher heels. I also found this pair from Dolce Vita which are very similar to the ones I tried on at COS. But as you are probably going to guess they are sold out, but in my size only it seems. They have all sizes from seven on up. So if you like them hurry up and get them. I searched online and no one has them in my size including the company itself. I would gladly have parted with the $90 they are currently priced at but no such luck. I really hope companies wise up and make more shoes with lower heel heights. It seems they sell out quickly so there is an obvious demand. And if the smaller sizes are also selling out, then there is a demand for that too, I can’t be the only one out there that has this problem. Have you every encountered this? My mom wears a nine narrow and has always had problems buying shoes. But a six and half medium? I guess that is now becoming an “exclusive” size. Well wish me luck on my quest and if you wear a size 7-9 medium count your blessings.
