Landeros Fall 2020 & My Last Outing For The Foreseeable Future

[bigletter]On March 8th I attended an off the grid Fashion Week show which took place after Fashion Week ended. It took place at the Scandinavia House in NYC for the label LANDEROS. I had a few reservations about attending the show, though on March 8th the situation was still not seen as dire. The week before on Sunday March first I attended a birthday dinner for a friend. The topic of the virus came up and most agreed that we would have some cases in the States. I week later when I attended the show things were more pronounced but not dire.[/bigletter]

A week later the entire state was in a suggested shelter in place. What a difference a week made. Now NYC is in a mandatory lockdown and the state in a shelter in place with the majority of businesses and institutions closed across the state. This is happening very fast and is scary.

In hindsight I am glad I went. I am fine and do not have illness. I have not left my house since, except the day after to go to the grocery store. I have not left my house in 12 days. This was the last event I attended before sheltering in place. I can and will go for walks, and I will go to the grocery story. But beyond that who knows when I will be out and about in the world again. At least I have this fond memory and a document of what I did on my last day of freedom to roam during this pandemic.

  1. Oooh last day of freedom, actually I’m really scary about what’s going next….. and imagine the impact in the fashion industry!

Thanks for sharing the project by Landeros, here we have really interesting proposals. I like how the designer used simple block colors, there not a lot of prints, but the work with pattern making is really interesting. I like that there are some interesting proposals for guys too, escaping from the typical!

Please keep safe and hope we can go back to normal soon 🙂

  2. I hope you and your family are okay. Stay safe and healthy!

  3. It’s great that you were able to get out to see the fashion show when you did! Everything is so crazy right now with not being able to leave the house unless necessary to buy food or go for a walk with while practicing social distance. Thanks for the visit to my blog and your sweet comment. Take care and be well.

  4. This time is terrible. May it end as soon as possible.

  5. Considering what has happened, it’s a good thing you attended this how when you did. It’s crazy how things escalated so quickly but at the same time if we actually had a capable administration, I have no doubt this would have been handled very differently form the beginning and it would have been better contained. This lockdown sucks but considering what is happening in Italy it is much needed. When I went out to buy groceries earlier this week, people were just hanging out in Union Square acting like nothing was wrong. They have to do this because people here have no discipline to control themselves. Stay safe and healthy Allie!

  6. Such a great video to remember the Fashion week show. This too shall pass and there will be many more shows to attend in the future. Stay strong.

  7. The same situation is happening in here too!
We stay home and the town is quiet.
I hope we all are fine!

  8. I had the a similar conversation with hubby yesterday…just a week ago Little Tyke was enjoying his last day of school before Spring break, everything was fine. Life was…normal. Fast forward today, things are so different. Many of my friends got laid off, schools are closed until further noticed, streets are quiet and people are avoiding each other. What a difference a week made….and I feel the world is changed forever after this.

  9. Hon, first of all, I’m glad you’re well! And corona went from 0 to 100 real quick! One thing its done for all of us, is put things in perspective. Everyone’s plans and world has turned upside down and this time has brought the best and worst out of people. I’m trying to be grateful for the small things, like getting my laptop back after 3 freakn weeks and now I can go to my community of bloggers and see what they’ve been up to. Stay safe, Xo

  10. Yeah I’ve heard about NY, Italy (my country) is in a tremendous mess. We are not even allowed to go out for a walk!
Thank god I live in the country

  19. We are on a “Safer at Home” here in California too. It’s so bizarre to see every single business closed and every parking lot empty. The only thing keeping me sane is visiting my favorite blogs, so thank you for being one of them! Stay safe girl XO

  31. We’re sheltering in place, too. I’ve been working from home for a little over a week now and we only venture out to go to the grocery store. It’s wild! So glad you got to go to this show- I am loving all the boys in bows. Such a fun way to play with gender fashion norms.

NEW POST IN MY FASHION BLOG!!???: http://www.adrianosle.com/2020/03/soy-como-soy.html

  40. It’s good you were able to go to the show and to the birthday dinner! There are a few cases here that have originated from dinner parties and weddings so the government is being very strict with the rules. I think it was one dinner party there were 12 guests and one person didn’t know they had the virus and infected almost everyone else! It’s crazy how quickly it can spread.

Hope that your week is going well 🙂 I’m continuing to work from home this week, although our schools are still open so I can still get outside.

  41. It’s a trying time for everyone around the world indeed. Hope things get better soon. Stay safe dear!

  44. What a difference a week makes, hey? I couldn’t agree more. Hopefully things will start looking up soon. I hope you’re safe and well, Allie!!

  45. Yes, just a couple weeks ago we were still working and travelling for work, now everyone and everything in disarray. I have a couple of friends in Italy, it is no joke and I keep reading about effects and happenings in NYC, so tragic. I wish people would take it all seriously. It’s madness but we can get through this if everyone listens, only go out when necessary and stay home. I hope you are safe, healthy and stay hydrated. 🙂

  46. I feel horrible Allie, I see how NY is doing on the news and I can only imagine what you’re going through. I have been home for over a week and it all seems crazy to me. Everyone looks suspicious and scared. I went to the grocery story and made sure to stay 6 feet away from everyone, but what gets to me is the germ issue and I think about how I now have to wash my fruits and vegetables with actual soap, disinfect everything after I come home. It’s crazy but so necessary. On the positive side my employer is paying me although I’m home, and that takes a big huge stress off my back. I hope you are doing well emotionally and mentally. Feel free to drop me a DM or email if you need!
